and remember all the people in this forum that claimed first that Quantum Easing would "work",,,(they couldn't explain how or to what purpose, but they knew it was worth a try). And then, those same people got all testy when some of us suggested that there was no end to this, and QE1 would be followed by QE2 into infinity

well, the future is here, i guess it's just not evenly distributed yet

Was using the term 'quantum' rather than 'quantitative' a Freudian slip based on its 'perpetual' nature?

I tend to agree that perpetually artifical stimulation can never allow a corrector and continues to lead us on a dangerous path (inflation, devaluation, fiscal cliff, etc.).

inflation is not the problem... deflation is the killer!  when they start printing $1 million dollar bills with Barrack's face on it... that's when your country has officially gone belly-up...

should have elaborated... inflation is generally a sing of an economy that is still strong... deflation means things are losing their value, and when that happens, that's when we get "hyper-inflation"... which is the deathknell...

inflation can typically be an indicator that the economy is recovering... can't offer people gas at $5 a gallon unless people are actually able to pay that much for it... otherwise you have to take it off the market altogether, because it does not have profitable market-value...
