In the early 90's, Canada too had a massive debt load, it also faced credit rating cuts across the board, and saw borrowing costs spike as a result but our country responded with deep spending cuts to fix what many economists saw as a ticking economic time bomb. The federal government introduced harsh austerity measures that every Canadian felt social programs were gutted, civil service pay was cut as Canada attempted to decrease its massive 70% debt-to-GDP ratio. In the end, after slowed growth and thousands of lost jobs, it worked. By 2008, Canada went into the global recession with a debt-to-GDP ration of just under 20%. That meant Canada was better prepared than the rest of the developed world to face the effects of the recession. This year, the country’s fiscal deficit is forecasted be $33 billion, well below the 3%-of-GDP threshold that economists consider manageable. Compare that to the U.S.’s 9.2%. So will the U.S. wake up and adopt Canada’s best economic practices? Unlikely with "The Food Stamp President" at the helm. Good luck America you're going to need it.

Josbran, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8 and 9 are wrong. Other than that your post is pretty good.

Economically we are fucked, thats all I care about right now with a 3 month old baby.  No sour grapes for me though... I just have to work harder, make more money, and yet my baby will still have things taken away from him but thats life for the next 4 years.

Can't we all just get along, because that is what is wrong with America.

What will your baby have taken away from him? His pacifier? His binky? His favorite blanket?

This is what is wrong with America.... this moron... I've seen you around on this site, based on what I have seen, I know where you stand.  My only issue is the economy as I stated... if you think the economy is going to be better moving forward then you are just ignorant.  If you can't understand my statement, then god help you.

Either way I am not going to argue because there is no point.  Congrats on your victory, you must feel a lot better inside posting stupid garbage like you did.

Take a long look in the mirror pal, its people like you that are bringing America down.

First off, I voted for Gary Johnson so I didn't win anything. Secondly, if you think anything drastic is chnging to the point where it will affect your infant you're wrong. I would say it's people like you, and josbran(see above post) who are a bigger detriment to America. Look at that list of ten things he posted, they could all be easily refuted. Yet you guys go around like chicken little claiming that the sky is falling.

Why not question the GOP on how they lost this election. Things must be soooooo bad that even after what you guys call "the worst President ever," half of America still voted for him. Think back to the Republican primaries and the Bush Admin and tell me why people, especially ones that aren't religious nut jobs, might want to avoid voting Republican.

I'm more disappointed that 3rd parties didn't get more votes so they could play a bigger role in future politics. You should be too.

Ok I apologize for my comment earlier since it seems to have ruffled so many feathers around here.

However, the political forum may not be the place for some of you.

No problem and thanks... short and sweet, if I am taking home less money than I have in the past and paying more for items due to inflation then that is less money being spent on my child.

Any forum is open to the public and freedom allows me to be here.

Good luck in the next 4 years... See you here in 2016.

Understandable Yankees. I just think there is more to politics than the economy sometimes. Economy is most of it, but definitely not all of it. Maybe this admin is the one that keeps your son out of a war 20 years from now. Just speculation.

I'm pretty anti war right now, hence my Gary Johnson vote(which is an indirect vote for Romney anyway). I just don't think Obama is nearly as bad as anything the GOP has offered up in a long time.

My opinion is really soley based on three factors right now... the well being of my family, the economy and homeland security.  At this point in my life... nothing else matters.... based off recent terror plots and terrorism in general as well as global warming and increased weather patterns.... we are simply living in a unpredictable world and a complete different world than ever right now.  We are almost going towards a every man for themselves type of situation, maybe not now, maybe not in 10 years, but the future sure is scary.  Good luck.

I agree with #'s 1, 2, 5, 6, 7(agree but not to that extent), 8, and 9 (but I personally think we are already at 10%)

Texas won't allow #3 to happen. #4 should but will be tough.
