Well- I guess we just disagree...

I have no problem with him taking every opportunity and advantage to lower his tax burden...

Why should he be held to a different standard?

By that logic, all politicians should forego any effort to minimize / shield income from taxes.....

First off DSN, those loopholes were given to the fatcats by the politicians. You really believe the fatcats dont realize they are basically cheating the country out of paying taxes.

Why should he be held to a higher standard?  Because he wants to be the leader of the country and he should be at the front saying these loopholes shouldnt even exist.

Sure right now they are legal loopholes, but we all know, including the fatcats themselves that these loopholes are wrong.

Quite i honestly i dont want a person leading are country, who goes around saying how much he loves his country, but doesnt love it enough to be paying the proper amout to the country.

You really cant see how wrong this is?

Its like the old saying 2 wrongs dont make a right.

Think about it, the guy gets to use all the things are society has to offer, he just doesnt want to chip in for those things.  Thats just plain wrong

also things like the mortgage interest deduction is a deduction that everybody can use. Its not some slick loophole that the rich created and then got the politicians to pass for them.

Thats a huge huge difference

DSN, Yes these clowns are taking advantages of legal loopholes that they paid off politicians to create for them, thats whats wrong.  The rich know they are cheating the system.

Please tell me why a company that keeps an office here, should be allowed to make thier products overseas, then bring them back here without paying any import taxes on the products?  This has nothing to do with if prices go up for consumers.  If the companies want to pass the cost of the import taxes onto the consumer, then the company will have to deal with consumers not buying their products.  Why you would care about these companies, when they are not providing jobs in our country, nor are they contributing to the running of our country.  Really why should these companies get a free pass, just because they filled the politicians pockets to create these insane loopholes?

And in case you havent noticed our country is becoming a country of just service type jobs.  Our country with a population of over 300 million people will never survive with just service type jobs. And just remember when the country fails, there wont be anybody with money to pay for your services.

Am a total believer, that if companies want to have their products made overseas paying people a few bucks a day, then sell your fuckin products over there. These companies need to make up their minds if they want to be part of America or if they want to be part of India.

Our people cant compete with the wages people overseas are willing to work for and thats because here in America, we all have a differnt standard level of living and your never gonna convince people here to work for a few bucks a day.

Would you like to get paid what people doing your jpob in other countries get paid?  Of course not and thats because you are set in your standard of living.

I still believe somebody like Mets has hijacked your computer, lolllllllllllll

DSN, the mortgage deduction was created for everybody to use,so that makes it fair.  The loopholes the rich use, are special laws created just for them to use. Thats makes it unfair.

Iam completely dumb founded why you arent mad as hell paying your taxes every year towards the running of the country you are part of, but the rich dont have to pay their share toward the running of the country.  That has got me totally and completely baffled

Also why would you want any person leading our country who knows fair well the loopholes he uses to get out of paying his taxes is wrong, but does it because he can.

I would have more respect for romeny, if the guy said these loopholes are wrong and hurt our country and will not use those loopholes. Now thats what leaders do.  Leaders dont cheat the system, just because they can.

How do you impose a tax on just the corps you talk about and not tax legit foreign companies?

Just so you know....right to work states are getting the manufacturing jobs back slowly.

Your union buddies chased those companies overseas to begin with. Chased the steel industry clean out of here.

Bowlslit, please stop with the same union bashing bullshit you little internet troll.  Companies didnt move jobs overseas because of unions, but keep believing that BS people like fox news and the koch brothers are shoving down your throat

They moved jobs overseas because they could pay people slave type wages with no health insurance or benefits.
Your union drivel is beyond comical.

Like i said before i pray every night for the insurance industry to get rid of your high paying jobs and replace them with phone banks.  You and your fellow agents high salaries contribute to the high prices all of in the country got to pay for all types of insurances.  Then when you are serving burgers at mikey d's you might have a change of heart about jobs in the country

DSN, you really dont know why more people are needing govt help.

will make it real simple for you

INCREASED POPULATION + DECREASED AMOUNT OF JOBS = MORE PEOPLE NEEDING HELP

People just dont want to accept the fact that the greed of the corporations is completely destroying our whole country.  Oh well.

feel sorry for the people who have kids and grandkids, because they are totally screwed.  Maybe they will be working side by side with bowlslit at mikey d's

Sorry DSN, I disagree with your post number 72.

We are never gonna convince people in our country to work for the wages people in other countries work for. Its never ever going to happen, because we have a differnt standard of living. You really gonna get 5-10 families all living under one roof sharing the bills

Are you willing to lower your wages and standard of living to what people in other countries do?  I highly doubt it

Taxes are the lowest they have been in 50 years.

Why are people going apeshit over taxes?

Why does the GOP even use this as their primary campaign issue?

Oh wait....... the GOP doesn't have a political platform other than taxes and "family values"

Now this is where I move in a different direction than most..and maybe you.

People that are receiving benefits, half if you believe Mr. Romney, are not living the standard of life that you are.

Most people needing stamps or welfare or housing assistance are not preparing for the long term and are not in positions of financial stability or strength.

I do not envy people I see who are using food stamps or obviously needing certain assistance programs..I dont consider those people lazy or takers or useless, I see people who have a bleak future with no possibility for choices and independence.

One other comment..with regard to average deductions..most of the average deductions are either phased out or capped on the fringe, so this means most anyone inside the belt are able to take advantage of the SAME deductions. I have some friends who make like 30k a year working yet are able to own a house and they can take the same deductions that the person making 150k can for the most part. I consider the deductions which are out in the open and are not creations of tax code manipulation to be available to the masses and open to all.

The deductions and corners that some take, abusing the code by finding nuances and holes, using their wealth to employ people to exploit, that is not available to the people inside the belt, most people do not have the resources to exploit the tax code, nor the means to hide money in offshore ventures ONLY to avoid taxes.

If you are conducting an activity for the sole purpose of avoiding taxes and would not conduct that activity were it not for that exploitation goal, there is obviously a huge problem. The people who manipulate the code are the same people who can use their wealth to control government and policy, the same cannot be said about the average citizen.

The tax codes were designed to be "progressive" from the get go.

Why all the shock now?

Certainly hasnt slowed down the growing gaps in the distribution of wealth.

Obamas position is not hidden....

15% cap gains is vulnerable. Which is no doubt a bummer. But the easiest way to stop the widening wealth disparity.

Net benefut for 95%? is positive tho and offset with advances in education and health care.

Call it socialism all you want.... But end up with a smarter and healthier work force.

Wall, am 100 percent sure all the people who complain about the people who get things like welfare and food stamps wouldnt change their lives with those people.  They just like complaining about it.

One of the biggest differences bewteen a right winger and democrat is the right wingers hate helping people in society. They believe every person should be able to help themselves and if they cant, then too bad. They dont realize most people are silver spoon fed brats like them.  Its sad but everything in a right wingers mind revolves around money
