Yemen

Egypt

Libya

And where is the President?

In Las Vegas begging for campaign contributions of course.

For those who think this election is over, I would suggest that events like this - and we are being attacked because Obama is viewed as weak - show the unpredictability of world events and how things can quickly cascade out of control.

We are not being attacked because Obama is viewed as weak.  We are being attacked because a Jewish imbecile film maker enjoys poking a hornets nest.  I suggest you get your facts straight.

The people in Yemen said nothing of the kind.

Neither did the people in Libya.

In his weekly address Saturday, President Obama observed yesterday’s anniversary of the 9/11 attacks and declared that “our country is stronger, safer and more respected in the world.”

Incompetence from top to bottom:

The consulate where the American ambassador to Libya was killed on Tuesday is an “interim facility” not protected by the contingent of Marines that safeguards embassies, POLITICO has learned.

Ambassador Chris Stevens was killed with three other Americans in an attack on the U.S. consulate in the city of Benghazi, where Libyan rebels ousted strongman Moammar Qadhafi last year.

This is just like 1980.

About 24 hours before the mob attack on the US consulate in Benghazi, al-Qaeda’s leader made his first public statement for four months.

I think Obama should go about bragging how he killed Bin Laden again.

That will help.

Embassy attacks seemed to be sparked by an American film depicting prophet Mohammed as a fraud.  In foreign conflicts, Americans tend to rally behind Presidents.  So Obama is likely to benefit politically.  However in polls, Romney is considered less competent in foreign affairs.

third

it all depends on how the media spins it.

maybe Obama actually authorized the raid on our embassy so he could get a bounce in the polls.

I dont believe that but how long until that is the conspiracy.

Do you mean like when America rallied around Jimmy Carter when those hostages were taken in Iran?

NOT!!!

When the Iranians were going wild back in 1979 , the Russians sent a message there would be violent consequences should any Russians be harmed or their diplomatic outlets attacked.

Our embassy was easy pickings.

No we're not. It is because Obama is ineffective & weak.

Also note:

But two Libyan officials, including the commander of a security force which escorted the U.S. rescuers, said a later assault on a supposedly safe refuge for the diplomats appeared professionally executed.

This wasn't some mob and it was not some reaction to a movie.

You all got it wrong.

This is not about that movie (the attacks started days after that was released)
It's not about the U.S. or Israel.

It's an internal fight among islamic fundamentalists. In Egypt it's a fight between the Muslim Brotherhood and Jihadi Salaphists. The latter having NO influence in Egyptian politcs desptite 25% of the votes.
Therefore they need a cause to incite the people - and what is better than bashing America....
The Egyptian government has no interest in these riots as Egypt needs the U.S. more than the U.S. needs them; investments, aid etc.

No, only loons would believe that but what I believe is that obama let his guard down especially on 9/11 a day that we should be more vigilant.

If any day that these thugs and terrorists would like to spit in our faces it would be on the day of 9/11.

They are not afraid of Americans anymore because they see obama as a weakling...he is a weakling when messages coming out of the state department expresses apologies and not condemnations.

President Barack Obama didn't intend to signal any change in the U.S.-Egypt relationship last night when he said Egypt is not an "ally," the White House told The Cable today.

If you think that a mob upset about a movie got their hands on tear gas, machine guns, and RPG's and were able to kidnap then kill an Ambassador, then I'd be happy to sell you some prime swampland in Florida!

Mob violence in Libya isn't surprising because of security problems since the fall of Gadhafi.  In the civil war, thousands of weapons were looted and thousands of criminals were released from prisons.

Although the english version of the film has been out for awhile, it has only recently been given an Arabic dubbing and televised.   In 2005, Danish cartoons about Muhammad  also produced worldwide protests.

Democrats attacked Bush's statement on Iraq that 'they would greet us as liberators' yet Obama's ,middle east foreign policy seems to be based on the same mindset. We have supported the removal of two leaders who were sympathetic to US interests (Libya within the last 10 years). As has been stated ad nauseum, dictatorships in religious based political spheres are the only method to cut back extremists. We have opened the doors in Libya and Egypt to the rise of extremists actions and power. The problem Egypt has now is it, more than any of the other middle east countries, relies upon the US tourist dollar (and it is of note that an American has been killed in 180 other countries before the last one in Egypt).

Now with all that being said, Romney has not offered anything to suggest that he would be able to handle middle east affairs any better and his embassy reaction was rightly attacked by fellow Republicans and middle east experts.
