Are now useless.  We need a category of fact checking the fact checkers.
Um, yeah, Obama was not in the chair.  Got it.  Solid work.

This gang of whoever they are have become typical stooges.  They need 4 pinocchio noses up their behind.

Republicans are apparently allergic to facts.

But I mean, if things are so bad, Obama is so horrible, Romney so great....why do they need to deceive?

Lies, deception, half-truths, fact distortion...call it what you want.  But if the truth is supposedly on your side, why go there?

In a parallel universe Obama may have well been in the chair :)

I mean, the Janesville plant thing.  You have to be a lawyer to try to make the argument that he didn't make a false claim.

It's outright deception, plain and simple.  The plant was all set to close after Obama made his speech, but before he was elected.  The unambiguous implication was that despite Obama's promise to do something, he didn't do anything/enough to prevent the plant from closing.  But the fact is he wasn't president at the time and didn't have any authority to do anything/enough.

But more important, he did have the opportunity to prevent many plants from closing and to prevent the collapse of the american auto industry.  Over the strong objections of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, that happened.

I will expect Obama to make this argument strongly in his speech.

Oh BS, he pandered for the votes and then did nothing. Typical failure.

Failure is what obama is.  loser.  incompetent.  douche.

romney will likely be a corporate stooge.  thats better than someone who wants our country broke.  what other explanation is there for what obama has done?

I'm still waiting for you, or anyone reading, to point out these alleged 'lies'

There was no false claim. You can point to no false claim.

The unambiguous implication was that despite Obama's promise to do something, he didn't do anything/enough to prevent the plant from closing.  But the fact is he wasn't president at the time and didn't have any authority to do anything/enough.

Ever notice when you leftists are pointing out "lies" you use terms such as "unambiguous implication"?

Want to guess why?

See, the actual point Ryan was making is that Obama's policies - that of "I believe that if our government is there to support you … this plant will be here for another hundred years. - failed.

See, GM was supported to the tune of over $40 billion.

while you carry on with "implications" one can read the transcript of Ryan's remarks and understand what he was talking about.

As a point of fact, Obama said the plant would be retooled ("I will lead an effort to retool plants like the GM facility in Janesville") after the plant closing was announced.

What does that say about Obama's business acumen?

You're right, the money isn't in China.  They were doing very well until Americans started losing jobs and couldn't afford to buy their cheap garbage any more.  Funny how what goes around comes around, isn't it?

Meanwhile, back in the Caymans, Fat Cats sit on their money.

And if I told you my age was 15+21 or 6*6 or 4*9 or the age immediately after 35, you'd claim that I didn't tell you I was 36 years old.

Exactly! That was the point Ryan was making, but of course you're gonna have people miss the point.

This is a classic case of people misunderstanding or misinterpreting what a person is really saying and so they will wrongly conclude in what the person had said was a lie.

That's why one has to be very careful with the choice of their wording in the context of their message in order to avoid misunderstandings.

But actually it didn't fail.  In many of the situations where there actually a was a plant to save during the Obama presidency, it was saved.  Supporting GM saved hundreds of plants and millions of jobs.  If Mitt Romney had his way, the american auto industry probably wouldn't exist right now.

Um, GM received a $16 billion dollar loan prior to the WI plant closing.

It did fail.

You realize plants re-open all the time, right?

PS: was the part of Ryan's speech where he pointed out the plant was closing prior to Obama visiting the part where he "implied" Obama closed the plant?

I can't wait for 30 year old, professional student of Georgetown,  Sandra Fluke tell the American people in prime time next week that she deserves free contraceptives on the backs of hard working Americans.  That will be a "wonderful' speech to America with Chris Matthews and Big Ed foaming at the mouth. The Dems are a complete farce!
