A food stamp nation?
A country riddled with debt?
A land of unkept and outdated infrastructure?

Don - its actually your generation - the me generation that has brought this country to where it is. It will be my generation and the next and the next that will have to make the hard choices in order to get the store back in order.

But carry on with your beliefs.
Both the D's and R's fucked this country

"Last year I paid 22.6 percent in federal taxes after all the special deductions afforded me."

Well sir, you still have a ways to go before you catch Ryan at 20% and Romney at 14%.

Lot's of luck with that.

What's your point Don? My observation of the baby boomer generation and where this country is today at least has some merit.
Not sure what my being on vaca pr at work has to do with the # post I chime in on.

Johnny One-Note is still harping on about taxes, interesting that after four years he still has NO interest in the many records obama had sealed.

Lordy, lmfaoooooooooooooooo

your generation is gonna fix the country?  Now thats friggin funny since your generation is producing some of the most useless and laziest workers on the planet. All kids today want to do is smoke pot, text, talk on their cell phones, twitter, facebook and play video games. Truthfully this country is screwed with the generations coming up.

And for the record, the baby boomers didnt ruin this country. The fat cat rich people and corporations totally ruined the country. That whole entire group is filled with slimy dirtbags, who dont give a crap about the country and only care about how much money they can fill their pockets with

Its funny lordy how you talk about future generations saving the country.

Lat night i was watching the show called "beyond scared straight"

all this one kid wanted to do in life, was get high and skateboard.  Thats what he wanted to do with his life.

another kid just wants to sell drugs, so that he can get money to get ho's

good luck fixing the country with kids like that being the up and coming generation.  Glad i will be gone by then

And look at the movie's they are producing..garbage..Everything is F this F that.

We had mostly wholesome movie's teaching honesty, decency, creativity, courtesy, politeness. And NO vulgar language either. You couldn't even use the word pregnant.

And look at the morality today. Fewer and fewer want to serve their country,, Oh not me ! send someone else's kid to war.

Churches are closing,, when was the last time YOU when to church ?

Look at the divorce rate, 50% of marriages end up broken. More and more single Mothers are raising children. Do you really believe a single Mom can raise her child properly, while working two and three jobs ?

Camera's everywhere watching you. Guns and assault weapons everywhere you look. People don't trust anyone.

So don't talk about our generation, look in the mirror when you smoke the next puff.

If you want to change things, It's on you. Go change the world.

The fixation with the % of what certain people pay in taxes is amazing. People who invest pay a lower % its as simple as that and they're not breaking any laws.

Why not look at the actual amount those people paid in taxes in real money while the money they invested put people to work because it helped companies grow.

Wow, you sound like an old crotchety man complaining about the whippersnappers that walk through his lawn.
I bet your elders said the same thing about your generation.
Fact is our generation is too busy fighting the longest war in American history to impress you by explaining the new trends in social media and technology, that are clearly the future in just about every industry.

Also,  The fat cats you speak of are more than likely from the baby boomer generation.  Along with all of the ill-conceived champions of all of the entitlement systems that are acting like ticking time-bombs to my generation.  We never got a choice if we wanted to sign on to your ponzi schemes.

I worry about this too. I was listening to a radio program recently where the discussion centered around banning football because of the head injuries.

An Army Drill Sergeant called in and said the 18 year olds he is dealing with are the biggest wussies he's ever seen. He said it is only because the rest of the world sucks so much that the US military is superior. A wresting coach also called in and was describing how today's high school students don't want to work at anything and can't handle the slightest bit of criticism or coaching.

I can only hope these are the exception - but I doubt it.

We've all heard the term "The Pussification of America" and the military is the perfect example.

I joined the Army in 1989 when I was 17. I admit I had it easier then the guys that came before me (WWII and Vietnam). Drill sergeants could get in our face and yell at us but could not hit us like they did years before.

I did six years in the Nat Guard while in college. When I graduated from college my six years in the guard also ended. A few months later I joined the active duty Army and did three more years. By that time (1996-1998) if a drill sergeant was in a trainee's face and the trainee was stressed the trainee could pull out a stress card and the drill sergeant had to stop yelling at him/her.

This is not an indictment of the men and women who serve today. This is just an example of how with every passing generation we get softer and softer. That drill sergeant in the above example could probably give a perfect example of how it is today compared to how it was when he went through.

Stress card is a myth.  I never got a stress card, and I went through basic in 2003.

When I was coming back in I was with people that were coming out of Basic & AIT in 1995-1998 and they were the ones that told me. I never actually saw it since I was considered prior service and didn't have to go through Basic again.
