I nearly fell out of my seat when i heard this ridiculous choice. For the Repudians this is the worst possible choice on oh so many levels. Let me begin....

Ryan hates Medicare and wants to gut it. All fine and dandy but this election will hinge on those key swing states with Florida being the biggest prize. Florida also has a huge senior population that has nothing better to do than vote. Spare me the details of the plan, i know them, but old folks get scared easily and will run as fast as they can from Ryan. Romney loses Florida and he is done.

Ryan hates women's right to choose and anything to do with reproductive services and programs. women will play an exaggerated role in this year's election and Ryan's obstinate stance on these issues all but gives Obama every single fence sitting woman.

Ryan appeals to the tea baggers more so than moderate republicans. Sorry, but Mitt already had these ring wing nuts on his side. They were voting for Romney regardless of who the VP was. No way any of these folks were going to vote Obama. Bringing Ryan in adds nothing to appeal to a base Romney does not already have.

Ryan's budget and Medicare plan is so whacky and mathematically impossible that not four days after announcing Ryan as his VP, Mitt is already distancing himself from Ryan and his misguided budget. Nice...bring the guy aboard and then blow holes in the ONLY thing the guy ever tried to do in Congress. Classic.

Ryan represents everything HORRIBLE about Washington. A dyed in the wool teat sucker who has not ever worked outside of Washington. He has no concept of what life in the real world is like. He has hopped from staffer job to staffer job until getting on the congressional teat and doing absolutely nothing for over a decade. So the republican party has an entitled out of touch 1%er for president and a Washington beltway guy who has no concept of real america....

The Romney campaign strategists just gave the election to Obama. The barrage of negative garbage coming from the Romney PAC's and Super PACs over the next 80 days will not be enough to overcome the blunders and missteps the Romney team has committed. They have done more to re-elect Obama than Obama ever could have done for himself.

On the plus side Ryan loves p90x and its only a matter of time before photos of him showing his junk to young bros or hos emerge. Thanks Tony Horton!

Complete & absolute lie.

Complete & absolute lie.
PS: ObamaCare cuts Medicare Part A by $800 billion by 2024 and those cuts start on Jan 1, 2013.

Um, you providing a link to Romney saying he's going to restore Obama's cuts to Medicare is not evidence Romney is "distancing" himself from Ryan.

Ryan does not cut $700 billion from Medicare.

Fail.

SAME AS RYAN'S...

Complete & absolute lie.

Er, if you had actual "facts" you could like point to a statement.

You can't.

Because there are no facts.

Reagan's former budget director was quite critical of Ryan's budget.

The interesting component is it doesn't quite gut medicare as people have been saying, but rather creates a voucher system that will put more pressure on the states.

The Obama plan reduces federal medicare levels but funds at a higher rate to states that do not opt out.

The problem with both plans is that neither addresses the issue of ensuring that low income seniors are not hurt by cuts that would end up effectually being 'across the board' as opposes to cutting the most affluent seniors.

As long as corporations and PACS and all the other dirty money own our politicians nothing will be done the right way.

Obama, Ryan, Mitts it doesnt matter, politicians are bound and gagged by money and it has been and will continue to destroy this great country.

Don't worry Dj, they'll be pushed into Medicaid.

Note: 1/3rd of doctors are refusing new Medicaid patients.

It will go swell.

Oh, and Ryan is such a horrible pick that the Romney campaign raised $7.4 million from 70,000 donors in the 72 hours after the announcement.

I love this logic. Ryan is an awful pick and is going to scare away senior citizens because he has the same (allegedly) Medicare cuts as Obama.

That makes a ton of sense.

Erskine Bowles the co-chairman on President Obama’s Deficit Commission and who previously served as chief of staff for President Clinton...praised Paul Ryans budget .........

“I always thought that I was okay with arithmetic, but this guy can run circles around me.

“And he is honest, he is straightforward, he is sincere and the budget that he came forward with is just like Paul Ryan. It is a sensible, straightforward, serious budget and it cut the budget deficit just like we did, by $4 trillion…

When I saw Romney was distancing himself from Ryan and there was a link I was thinking it was going to be from Romney's website. Then I click on the link and it is to an article written by a reporter from the Washington Times.

Once I started reading it I realized that the reporter from the Washington Times may be, not definitely sure, in Obama's camp.

Can this guy be taken at his word?

AustinHoopDream,

here is what the Medicare Actuaires have to say about the ObamaCare cuts on Medicaid:

providers for whom Medicare constitutes a substantive portion of their business could find it difficult to remain profitable and, absent legislative intervention, might end their participation in the program (possibly jeopardizing access to care for beneficiaries).Simulations by the Office of the Actuary suggest that roughly 15 percent of Part A providers would become unprofitablewithin the 10-year projection period as a result of the productivity adjustments.

It is going to be a hard lesson when you realize that in supporting the party that lies as a manner of course, they also lie to you.

The Democrats thought they were going to have this big "Medicaid cuts" issue to run on. Now they have to defend ObamaCare which is much, much more unpopular than any Ryan budget.

Um, actually you devoted 2 paragraphs to Medicare.

Anyway "the rest" consists of a bunch of silly hyperbole.

Example:
Ryan hates women's right to choose and anything to do with reproductive services and programs. women will play an exaggerated role in this year's election and Ryan's obstinate stance on these issues all but gives Obama every single fence sitting woman.

Um, Ryan's district was carried by Obama, Gore, and Clinton, while the state hasn't gone (R) since 1984.

I think you should go on pretending that no women have ever voted for Ryan and his district isn't moderate.

but but but it was a non-partisian plan crafted with Lefty Ron Wyden.

So much for 'right wing extremism'

Romney and Ryan have obama, bideT, and the gang in mental chains already, second guessing themselves and talking out of two orifices.

Romney up 4% on der leader....... that's BIG baby.

AustinHoopDream,

Are you happy Pelosi passed those $700 billion+ in Medicare cuts so we could find out they were in the bill?
