CBS/AP) ORLANDO, Fla. - A police video of neighborhood watch volunteer George Zimmerman reenacting the fight he had with Trayvon Martin that led to the unarmed teenager's shooting death was released on Thursday. In the video, Zimmerman gave his most detailed account yet of the incident and claimed that Martin said "you're going to die" and reached for Zimmerman's gun just before the shooting.

Pictures: George Zimmerman charged with murder

Zimmerman's attorney Mark O'Meara released the video, which was recorded a day after the Feb. 26 shooting. This was nearly a week before Zimmerman's second bond hearing on second-degree murder charges. He pleaded not guilty, claiming he acted in self-defense under Florida's "stand your ground" law.

In the video, Zimmerman told detectives he grabbed his gun from a holster on his waist before Martin could get it and shot the teenager once in the chest. Zimmerman said thought he missed because Martin didn't immediately fall over.

"He sat up and said, 'You got me. You got me,' or something like that," Zimmerman said in the video.

Zimmerman said Martin was on top of him, slamming his head against the ground and smothering his mouth and nose with his hand and arm. The tape showed two butterfly bandages on the back of Zimmerman's head and another on his nose. There are also red marks on the front of his head.

"It felt like my head was going to explode," he said.

Although Zimmerman claimed he shot the teen in self-defense, Martin's parents said Zimmerman was the aggressor. They said Martin was walking back from a convenience store through the gated community in Sanford when Zimmerman spotted the black teenager and started following him. They claim their son was racially-profiled. Zimmerman's father is white and his mother Hispanic.

David Hill, an Orlando-area defense attorney who has no connection to the case, said Zimmerman comes across as "a reasonable guy" in the video and not the zealous "cop-wannabe" that Martin's parents have portrayed him.

"He came across as being straight-forward," Hill told The Associated Press after reviewing the video. "It doesn't hurt him."

Zimmerman's second bond hearing will be June 29. His $150,000 bond was revoked earlier this month after prosecutors said Zimmerman and his wife, Shellie, misled the court about how much money they had available for bail.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Seems to me that he is coming accross as very believeable.

Let the trial run its course. Your opinion on anything at this point is really trivial at best.

Why do we need a trial. He has already been convicted by your hero's Al Sharpton and Lawrence Odonnell...the list goes on.

I have no confidence in the jury system anymore anyway. Most Americans are too stupid to get true justice these days.

So the continued assertion by the left was that the investigation was "botched"

Really, how so?

Zimmerman did multiple interviews with police.
Zimmerman's firearm was taken into custody and ballistic tests were conducted.
Zimmerman was given a voice stress test

Note: every bit of available physical evidence supports Zimmerman's story.

Why you gotta be a person about things?

Let the OP open a discussion on the topic with this new video being released to the public. That's what we are here for, is to have open discussions and debates, his opinion is as important as anyone else at this point.

Its just so repetitive over and over again about the same trial why not put all that junk in one continuous thread...

Those threads are already too long which makes it difficult for new people to join the conversation effectively.

Why do you wish to censor me or anyone?

I think we have heard over and over and over about "his  OJ" being innocent and trying to assimilate any possible details to his automatic assumption about the innocence about his OJ...

I am all for an open discussion about politics... how is this thread even a politcal topic?

Dl36 it’s political because party lines decided if Zimmerman is a killer or not. Republicans think Zimmerman’s a hero vigilante that killed a black kid that deserved to die because he’s a Ni**** that liked rap music, smoked weed and would have ended up on welfare and in jail in their bigoted eyes.

I’m a independent liberal green party libertarian but I guess I’m forced to side with the democrats. The democrats think Zimmerman is a lying sociopath wannabe cop that disobeyed a 911 emergency dispatcher, scared his co-workers with his Jekyll and Hyde personality, and used his judge daddy to get out of trouble for hurting women and attacking a cop.

Zimmerman on the video, “He repeatedly hit me in the face” The pictures say other wise.

Zimmerman said Martin told him, “You’ve got a problem now.” And he was punched in the face.

Then Zimmerman said Martin told him, “You’re gonna die tonight Mother guy.”

After that, Zimmerman said Martin told him after being shot, “You got me, you got me.”

Zimmerman has one hell of an imagination. I wonder what movies he was thinking about.

Zimmerman is 28. He told the emergency 911 dispatcher he thought martin was in his “late teens.” Then he took the stand and said to Martins parents, “I thought he was a little bit younger than I am.” Hummm…

Then Zimmerman’s wife lied to the court and transferred all of Zimmerman’s money into her account.

Four days before Zimmerman’s wife and Zimmerman were discussing how to pay credit card bills with the 10 grand.

In the jailhouse tapes…

Zimmerman’s wife: Well you could lay down

Zimmerman: Yeah, exactly. Well I have a Hoodie (followed by laughter)
Zimmerman’s wife: Mmhmmm, mhmmmm…

Zimmerman is a sociopathic liar and his wife is disgusting. She looks like a fat crack head. I think he’s gonna get away with killing Martin. I just wanted him to be arrested and be tried in a courtroom. That's as much justice as Martins parents are going to see. I don’t see the jury getting it right unless it’s mixed race with 6 democrats and 6 republicans on the jury and they both come to an unanimous decision.

I don't see Martin getting justice because it won't matter what evidence they present because the jury will look like this

Racial politics.

But you, anyone reading, the people that fired the police chief, are welcome to list what was "botched" about the investigation.

I'd love to read all about it.

I think your assertions about the dichotomies between Dems. & Repubs. is a general extreme stereotype which borders social negligence.

It sounds like you have a very 'black and white' percept.
What about 'areas of gray' inherent to situations and circumstances ?

I think he probably doesn't lose any sleep over who's gonna win Wrestlemania 88. 'Rage in the cage'

Nice to see how you're now trying to save face by lowering your expectations and reasoning for Zimmerman being found not guilty. You could never accept the fact that he may be telling the truth about his encounter with the wanna be burglar.

Money, if what you are saying is true about people making assumptions about the case based on simply following their partisan affiliation this is a just plain scary to me...

that partisan lemmings would simply follow the prescribed view dictated to them without question and kowtow to the absolute power of the their party by trying to find ways to explain to us that the world is flat because that is what they see on the horizon?

I would hope that people are not that brainwashed... but it appears that they are...

as an independent myself I am actually supportive of the right to a weapon and the the stand your ground (providing it is actually protecting yourself rather then attacking)... I remember signing a petition for a bill that talked about that, but that it was standing your ground on your own property... not walking around the street...

I think if this is a partisan issue where people blindly believe the paradigm dictated to them, then perhaps this is where as an independent I dont relate with the thread after thread after thread of such a polarized view that you see from the usual suspects and supporters... while others with less or no mandated partisan perception keep saying to simply let the justice system sort out the case and lack the passionate personal investment that "their OJ" is innocent...

I always thought that it was the racial issues of the incident that obama tried to use for political gain and thus transcended into politics... but I think what I am hearing from you and perhaps starting to see is that for partisan lemmings their view of reality fueled by the assumption of OJ being innocent as being a mindless partisan lemming issue...

So this issue is like a litmus test for the blind faith following of the partisan lemmings... and you see the usual suspects jumping right at to identify themselves as brainwashed followers...

To me it is now what people think... as I would no go bananas which ever way this case goes (Im just not that as passionately invested in a prescribed polarized view)...

But issue is that this case shows how people think, come to conclusions and make decisions...

Considering this is the 19th post in this thread... which is well above average for the politics forum these days. I'd say their is still a strong enough appetite to continue the discussion/debate.

That was my only point in calling out Stiln.

As for this topic being political, that will always be the case when we're dealing with the scope of the law. Politicians are the ones who shape laws, by passing bills, and striking down others. Even if a law is formed or tweaked by the SC, it's politicians who appointed those SC judges that shape the laws underneath them in the lower courts.

DL36 as much as you're trying to bait me into calling you a stupid, no common sense, over analytical, wide stanced idiot I'm not going to fall for that mind trick.

The reason I believe Zimmerman is telling the truth are the following:

1. No other evidence or witness statements to contradict his statements.

2. Witness statements and evidence corroborrating his account.

3. MoneySRH believes he is guilty.

The fact that this story does divide pretty much down party lines is interesting. I've always considered liberals to be the type of people that don't think things through completely and this is no different.

I am overall concerned about our society and becomming more so because a greater percentage of people are thinking like a liberal.

IE no more spanking your young kids or telling them NO. Pretty much no more discipline at all anymore. We worry more and more about how the criminal had his feelings hurt. We don't offer people incentives to help themselves rather than relying on other people to help them. Overall, America is becoming more and more PUSSIFIED.

What are your thoughts?

why would I bait you into posting insulting and ignorant stuff (which posted anyways cause you couldnt help yourself)...

mind trick?

Is this more of your magical thinking that you base your reality upon?  what are you even talking about?

I think you beginning to crack again like you did a few weeks back... try and hold it together please

So bascially you are saying that this is not a political issue then and that your posting thread after thread after thread insisting "your OJ" is innocent in the politics section is wrong...

plus ofcourse your blah blah blah schitck on conservatives/liberals...

I have heard your plan to rehabilitate inmates in prison by watching TV and videos of people enjoying the fruits of their labor... which was hilarious...

Now tell me about your spanking/disciplining children... so what is your idea of how disciplining of child should happen if there were no constraints in pussified america?

This should be good...

Shame we can't hear trayvon's side of the story, that is what is so frustrating about this case and these stand your ground laws. Zimmerman will tell this to the jury, and trayvon can't give his side so.. its very hard to prove that zimmerman is lying, and since there were no other witnesses who saw the whole thing, we are stuck with a one sided story, and forced to take the word of the person who has everything to gain by lying and a person who chased down and murdered and unarmed person because he "looked suspicious".

I still have not seen one solid defense of these friggin laws.

That's a poor argument, as those who are in favour of the stand your ground law would argue a similar point to the one you just made. Only the one not being able to tell his side of the story would be George Zimmerman.

The ole "bait and switch"... for someone who no longer wanted to see this topic debated, you sure are spending a lot of time in this thread.
