I would post statistics on the % of "young" who vote and life expectancy for minorities, but I'd rather you stay in your bubble.

However, it is notable that while Americans' labeling of their position
has changed, their fundamental views on the issue have not.

The country has become more anti-abortion in the last 30 years, more pro-tax cut, and is firmly against happy marriage.
You keep telling yourself whatever you need to in order to get through the day.

#10 Posted: 5/23/2012 10:28:16 AM This interesting:
"The 2008 presidential election saw a significant increase in voter turnout among young people, blacks and Hispanics," said Thom File, a voting analyst with the Census Bureau's Housing and Household Economic Statistics Division. "But as turnout among some other demographic groups either decreased or remained unchanged, the overall 2008 voter turnout rate was not statistically different from 2004."
---------------------------------------
So in other words, there is no evidence at all that the "youth vote" is increasing.

you really need to comprehend what you read. from your own article
" Additionally, voters 18 to 24 were the only age group to show a
statistically significant increase in turnout, reaching 49 percent in
2008 compared with 47 percent in 2004. Blacks had the highest turnout
rate among 18- to 24-year-old voters -- 55 percent, an 8 percent
increase from 2004. "
"The increased turnout among certain demographic groups was offset by
stagnant or decreased turnout among other groups, causing overall 2008
voter turnout to remain statistically unchanged -- at 64 percent -- from
2004."
thats right more young black and hispanics and asians turning out and old crotchety white folks dying off...
you are a joke...

So the people that made America great are aging............... and people like you who suck the blood out of the country are celebrating. Leeches who can't tell the difference between invaders and legal immigrants, those who contribute and those that do nothing but take. Just to be clear though, 2010 was a major repudiation for all things obama, democrat, and for your ilk.

#16 Posted: 5/23/2012 1:43:02 PM This is great...I can't wait until the progressives get their way and even the McDonalds workers are unionized and can get awesome pensions after only working until mid 40's. I'm pretty sure that is ubersustainable.

Er, polls are not facts.
See, 30 states, including that bastion of conservatism California, have voted against happy marriage.
See, There has been a long term trend in a decline in abortions.
But you'll cite polls.

You site polls all the time as proof that Romney is gaining on Obama. You link one thousand person polls as proof that Romney is in front of Obama for the November race. But now, according to you, polls are not facts?
So it's ok to use them as a reference when it suits you, but not when it doesn't suit your argument?

I love it when people project current trends as a straight line into the future.
Really, that always works out so well.

A poll pretending happy marriage is popular when 30 states (all of them that have voted) have voted it down isn't a fact. It is a denial of reality.
The equivalent would be Obama beating Romney in the election and me citing polls that Romney is more personallly popular than Obama.
Who cares? |
