http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/sns-rt-us-usa-military-colombiabre83d0fv-20120414,0,5408492.story

General Douglas Fraser, commander of the Southern Command, said he was "disappointed by the entire incident and (said) that this behavior is not in keeping with the professional standards expected of members of the United States military."

Fraser said a thorough investigation and punishment if appropriate will take place in accordance with the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

I am not that familiar with military investigation and punishment so I am not sure what happens next and if they are looking at a dishonorable discharge or a slap on the wrist for this type of thing...

In some ways I think it would be unfair to go up with blame to their commanding officers or who ever appointed these military personnel to their position, as long as they handle the situation... But another part of me thinks that there should be some accountability with an assignment  that is so important in protecting the president...

WELL,
I feel relieved that it wasn't  'abuse' of any type committed on a human.

FWIW,
This isn't the kind of transparency I'm expecting from any administration.

This is ethically embarrassing and I wish they would have kept this 'in-house.'

It's hard to abstain when we're horny and bored. Just tuff it out and do your job !

Uniformed code of military justice  UCMJ.

article fifteen is reduction of pay by 1/2 and reduction of rank.

I do not see it going much further.

If it does, then it is court martial and Ft. Levenworth.

I was thinking the same thing about the transparency issue...

In some ways tho I am glad that it was military and not secret service... although perhaps of it was it would have been kept secret

Thank you Rick

This is exactly what I was looking for, a competent view of the issues when it comes to UCMJ...

Seems like they have messed up their careers... I wonder tho if this really isnt the first time this type of thing as happened in 2nd/3rd world countries and in the past might have been protocol or standard procedure so the people involved might have been carrying on as they normally do and as other's have in that situation...  Therefore the thought of risk or accountability based on precedent...

Unless you are into that "Rush type of thing"...

NOTHING anti military from me!... just saying that jobs would probably be available to any one leaving after what seems to be a 'over-blowin' situation...

thought none of them were in any way connected to the protection of POTUS

Perhaps entertaining ..but what is the political content ?

If there isn't political content to discuss it would probably be better posted in the General Discussion Forum..

Unless it was posted to show that this Administration allows  issues like this to leak-out as to embarrass the military ..

Thank you for clarifying the intent of this thread is not to try to Spin it against the military or turn it into a partisan issue...

Perhaps it is "over blown"... depends on how the "talk heads" want to Spin this one

Do you honestly believe that what you post, or do you just post your BS knowing it is half-baked?

But here we go again ...

the neighborhood watch/wannabe policeman is shooting from the hip as he always does...

It is funny how much effort you put into trying to intrusively increase regulation... I think it really shows us about who you are...

Shall I link the threads where you defended Bush during Abu Ghraib "because he wasn't directly involved?"

Some might call the contrariness in those positions hypocritical.

I would lose a little bit more respect for you every day...............if I ever had any. My comment was facetious and in direct response to how you and every hard lefty attacked the former president for anything that transpired during his administration yet hold obama harmless for everything that has gone wrong during his term.

I'd feel very small and quite foolish right about now if I were you. I'm sure you'll just respond with some amateurish bluster to make yourself feel like a man though.

And IQ36 lives up to his moniker yet again, a total stalker and total Covers embarrassment.

Thanks for the chuckle boys.

Except I voted for Bush twice and never faulted him for Abu Ghraib.

Oooops. I know non-hypocrital stances are difficult for you to comprehend.

It is funny how espalande gets all insulting intelligence every time he gets embarrassed because he looks like a fool...

It is also funny how he and others try to say I am a lefty....

And he is the one on my thread bashing and then calls me a stalker

Thanks for the chuckle

It is funny how many comments I have gotten about you being afraid to address your own bet on your own "vitirol free" thread once I proved you to be talking out of your behind again...
