...

While Stockton has been down on its luck for as long as memory serves, many residents insist its fiscal crisis is a function of bad management during the flush years of the housing boom. Long an agricultural hub for Central Valley farms and situated about 80 miles (130 km) east of San Francisco, it went through a steady financial decline that saw its once thriving downtown hollowed out by poverty and crime. Scores of people decamped for the north of the city, or left altogether. Street gangs multiplied. Then, in the early 2000s, the housing boom drew developers back to the region in droves. Plush subdivisions went up overnight to attract families with easy credit who could not afford the Bay Area.

Prior to the housing boom, reckless spending on public-employee contracts put the city's long-term health at risk, according to active city officials. As coffers started to fill up from the swelling tax base, the sweetheart deals got sweeter. If an employee worked for one month, for instance, they and their spouses were eligible for retiree health care for life, a policy that had the predictable effect of moving people to quit working early. Today Stockton has 94 retirees with pensions of at least $100,000 a year, Reuters reported, amounting to twice the number of California towns its size. The city's long-term health liabilities alone amount to more than $400 million...

CD

Should we put a cop on every street corner in Stockton since they have one of the worst crime rates in the country?

find where i said that dickhead.  You wont be able to.

Love how to try to twist garbage to fit your ideas, but you alwasy fail.

Only thing i ever said, is our country will see more and more murders taking place between citizens, if the police forces are cut.
So nice try, trying to spin.
failed once again.

I feel sorry for you, guy in his 30's with no wife or girlfriend, spends all day in a cubicle, trying to get people to buy your over priced garbage and spending all of your time complaining about the world on Covers, instead of getting out there and trying to change things if you dont like whats going on.
But then again, guys like you are pussies who always need to be held by the hand with everything. You have never led anything in your life, except ofr being the first in line to bring the boss his coffee and donut everyday

So is this thread meant to invite respectful conversation or to incite another member?

So dont even try to link me to backing padded pensions, because you will lose again.

This is what happens when you have less and less cops on the streets, who are paid and trained to handle this stuff.
To all the guys always saying we have to many cops, this would be a daily thing all across the country with less cops out there. It would be like the wild west all over again.

First of all you don't get your gun taken away unless you get convicted of a felony.

Second, this isn't caused by having too few cops on the streets.

All of my threads are meant to invite respectful conversation yet CD has been granted way too much lattitude and thus causes most debates to get out of hand.

A. Does CD have conversations out of hand with just me or others too?

B. Do I have conversations out of hand with others or just CD?

If people are respectful to me I gladly give them the same treatment. CD doesn't even debate...he calls names and belittles quickly when he can't legitimately argue a point.

That is a fact and others have called him out for it.

I do believe you can have your permit to carry a weapon taken away even without being convicted of a felony.

I said having less cops on the streets is going to cause more and more things like this to happen. With more civilians wanting to patrol the streets, because less cops around, then you will see more cases like this.

You mean a permit to conceal a gun? You don't need a permit to carry a gun where I live as long as its not concealed.

The only thing wrong with this case is that he was stupid for having a gun on him while participating in the neighborhood watch.

And you don't get any permits taken away without just cause and so far just cause doesn't appear to be there.

Bowl, do you know who was an expert at going to other threads, looking for posts, then bringing them over to another thread like you did in post number 6?

I will give you a hint, it rhymes with nets.

I think what am going to do is just ignore you from now on the same way i have learned to ignore Slim, this way Wallsteets job is alot easier on him.

Me and Slim, stay away from each other and it works out well.

If you found an article about an insurance salesman ripping someone off you probably would. That is very rare though so you will likely not get that chance.

Good Idea...At least until you learn how to disagree with someone without calling them names and belittling them just because you don't agree.

Keep it fair and balanced wall
I have seen it go both ways with these esteemed members of covers.
No disrespect to either of you guys but you need to tone down the back and forth insults it's gone on for 2 long and in too many threads.
Just agree to disagree and leave the name calling for the kids.

Yet you have tons of time to argue about a dispatchers dog or supervisor that has no bearing on the case at all. Because nobody, not the supervisor, or the dispatcher told MR Z not to follow the suspect.

I get it.

Well in NEW YORK state you need a permit to even own a handgun and that permit can be revoked without being convicted of having a felony.

It applies here too because you seem to think that the answer is more cops more cops more cops more cops. No matter the cost to the city. I thought you would easily make that connection. My bad.

Doesnt answer the question. So you made a sarcastic reply directed at someone that you have a history of fighting with.

Thats not helping add to good respectful discussion.

Thats pretty funny..it seems that a few of you guys target many on the other side and then act like things are one sided.

It happens all the time, pile on cd and then wonder why he gets pissed off so regularly.

There are several members who pull this and it isnt at all one sided.
