Great... all the more reason for your Government to censor the web.

Actually our Conservative gov't is trying to push through Bill C-11 right now.

Hopefully you remember this when you reminisce about becoming a Conservative supporter.

Fair, but the bill has not been passed, with it being introduced in September, it seems far off that it will pass.

Reality is Canada has no such precedent going after foreign based websites, who circumvent our laws.

The same can't be said for our neighbours to the south.

A) I guarantee it will be passed with the current majority. The question is will it be amended, and if so what will the amendments look like.

B) So are you going to stand up when you can't rip a cd (you legally purchased) to your computer anymore? Or when they start to censor the internet? How far will you let them go? More importantly, how can you trust this government with anything given their record?

Reportedly, C-11 is WORSE than the US version of SOPA which was scrapped after there was a huge public backlash in the States. Yet you have no concern the government is pushing this though as fast as possible by shutting down debate/discussion on the bill, not allowing testimony etc.? Your laissez-faire attitude towards your newfound Conservative friends is disturbing.

Perhaps you should do some research before you lend your unquestioning support to possibly the most corrupt government our country has ever seen.

A) A new bill needs to be passed, our current copyright bill is old and antiquated, with the last amendment being made in 1997, a time when VHS and walkman's were still popular.

Good for us Canadians and our government for finally realizing this.

We still have no timeframe though, on when such a bill as C-11 will pass.

B) The current proposed bill, takes into consideration the rights of the artist. If the artist wants to put a digital lock on their CD, that should be their right. You as a purchaser of that CD, do not own the content, therefore it should not be your decision to make. If the artist chooses to put no such lock on their CD, you are free to rip it all you like.

No provision is currently to censor the internet, that is simply fear mongering on your part.

What is this record that you speak?

Depends on your definition of worse, again I repeat, the bill in its current form, makes little mention of the internet.

Not sure how you can consider this government as corrupt, what evidence do you have?

Here top this... sponsorship scandal... if you want to be taken seriously from now on.

Wow. "what is this record you speak of?"

This post is the epitome of the viewpoint from an uninformed and unquestioning Conservative supporter.

I wonder if you had even one original thought while you were regurgitating their talking points..

There is so much bullshit here I don't know where to start and to be perfectly honest I don't want to. So expect the same treatment I give to the rest of the blind partisan followers...

Good luck in life bud, all I can ask is that from now on you start to hold your politicians to account, regardless of the party colours.

I also appreciate you employing the usual distractionary tactics of trying to excuse and deflect attention away from all of the corruption and scandals of this government by bringing up the Sponsorship Scandal.

As if we're supposed to ignore all the corruption, contempt for the parliamentary process and spending guidelines etc. and turn a blind eye because it's supposedly 'not as bad as what the libs did.'

It's pathetic when the government does it and it's even more pathetic when their supporters repeat it. The Liberals paid a price for their stupidity and corruption. It's time we held the CONs to the same standards. Instead you just turn a blind eye.

Shame on you. Try to think for yourself.

Again I ask for an iota of evidence to support your theory of corruption.

You make baseless accusatory claims, of this being "possibly the most" corrupt government this country has ever seen.

I simply pointed to the absolute and definitive government with the most corruption... not sure why you're responding in the manner you've choosen. Is it because I touched a nerve with the Libs being your party of choice?

It's nice to have a Canadian troll around... Let me respond to your willful ignorance!!

They were in violation of election laws
They're the only gov't in the history of Canada to be held in contempt of parliament
They gave how many billions of tax $ to an AMERICAN company for fighter jets w/o RFP/public tender
Treasury board pres. Clement STOLE $50 million from a boarder security fund and spent it in his OWN riding on pet projects like gazebos..

CORRUPTION.

Need I go on?

Of course you don't care, because as you've shown you're just a mindless run-of-the-mill average Conservative supporter who is too stupid to hold politicians to account because of your ignorance and blind partisanship.

So feel free to carry on with your insanity...

They were in violation of election laws

Yes. They miscalculated and overspent anywhere between $500,000 - 1, 500, 000 of their allowable 18.5 million dollar budget. They owned up to that mistake and payed the regulatory fine. We're all humans, we make mistakes.

They're the only gov't in the history of Canada to be held in contempt of parliament

It was a political play, nothing was being accomplished in parliament, the Tories didn't want to be perceived as the ones calling for an election that Canadians did not want. The opposition fell right into it, crying about contempt and forcing the election. No parties behaved appropriately during that time, including the tories.
They gave how many billions of tax $ to an AMERICAN company for fighter jets w/o RFP/public tender

The reason they were viewed as being in contempt, as outlined above. No money has changed hands as of yet, no contract has been signed. Lets wait this out. The National Defence branch set forth a list of desires, for the new aircraft, Lockheed Martin was the only company able to meet the needs.

Treasury board pres. Clement STOLE $50 million from a boarder security fund and spent it in his OWN riding on pet projects like gazebos

Money was not stolen, it was used from the border security, and then topped up. We were hosting the G8 summit in his riding, garbage needed to be done, it was all accounted for, and replenished.

Just to be clear, my support of the Tories is not unflappable... but to be honest, the way the party carries itself is far superior to that of the opposition parties.

The latest election results, show exactly that, and in my opinion will continue to do so...

The way they handled Helena Guergis was refreshing to say the least, and not something you often see in politics.

Actually we're still not sure, just how corrupt the Mulroney government was...

The current conservative government did continue the pursuit of truth by calling for a public inquiry, but as you probably remember it didn't go so well.

His Order of Canada Citation reads.

As the eighteenth Prime Minister of Canada, he led the country for nine consecutive years. His accomplishments include, among others, the signing of the Free Trade Agreement with the United States, the North American Free Trade Agreement with Mexico and the United States, and the Acid Rain Treaty. In other international activities, he assumed the leadership of the Commonwealth countries against apartheid in South Africa and was appointed Co-chair of the United Nations' World Summit for Children. Fiscal reform, important environmental initiatives and employment equity were also highlights of his political career.

Another point, is that Mulroney acted alone, judging by all appearances.

Where as the Liberal government was layered with corruption during the sponsorship scandal.

You're absolutely right, I'm just joking around.

Truth is Mulroney did not hold true to conservative values, and as you pointed out... caused the party to fracture.
