There is a hidden link in post #1.
Obviously I got a kick out of the study, but it is not in reference to you kapono... You and a few others still provide me with evidence to the contrary.

#6 Posted: 2/2/2012 2:46:57 PM I found the link strait away and I think there are low IQ's that resinate with both conservatives and liberals. Many times conservatives unfairly get labeled as rasists. Sometimes it is fair however.
Lets use affirmative action as an example where conservatives get labeled as racist.
The liberal point of view that spawned affirmative action preached that the whole education system is culturally biased and that minorities needed an edge to compete with non minorities for certain jobs. Minorities could be selected for advancement with lower aptitude test scores than counterparts that were not considered minorities.
It may be true that the education system is/was culturally biased for a number of different reasons.
Conservative thinking is that instead of lowering the standards to allow minorities to compete the proper thing to do is address the issues that cause the system to be biased in the first place.
Which point of view is better for those minorities in the long run? Its easily the conservative point of view.
To me...the liberal point of view is racist in that it doesn't encourage the minority group to rise up and overcome.
Kinda like declaring one team the winner even though they scored 5 points less than the other team. Or letting your kid beat you in a game of hoops. That doesnt help make them a better player and makes them less able to deal with the emotions of losing.
Bottom line is that the liberal point of view is indeed racist. |

Found the link, maybe I'm one of those with the low IQ, lol
It doesn't surprise me that low measure of intelligent quotient correlate with prejudicial beliefs and/or socially conservative beliefs. I don't think there is a causal relationship necessarily though.

#10 Posted: 2/2/2012 9:00:54 PM i wonder how anyone, the OP or the author, would explain why its necessary for colleges and universities to make exceptions to admit blacks, presumably bc they dont measure up to whites educationally as well, yet blacks have an overwhelming liberal proclivity.

And here i thought Gail the Snail had an epiphany
So did Arlen Specter gain a point of IQ in his sleep the day that he switched parties?
I remember the GoldenGOose posted an article a ways back claiming about how liberals were so much more intelligent than conservatives. It stated that the average liberal IQ was 99 and the average conservative IQ was 97
for those of us with IQ's in the arena of those two put together, it was worthy of quite a chuckle. Reminded me of the days of listening to Stern and the two retards would have bits where they would interact and sometimes argue with one another

#14 Posted: 2/2/2012 9:25:41 PM I wonder what the libertarian IQ is? Maybe I should bite the bullet and join so people don't think I'm a dumb racist. |

#19 Posted: 2/3/2012 2:17:57 AM I have enough confidence in my fellow conservatives to put fourth a petition stating before you can vote you have to pass a test. Will liberals do the same? |

#20 Posted: 2/3/2012 2:38:39 AM I agree 100%...
make the test on math, science, logic, analytical skills... all the things needed to for decision making and problem solving...
home schooled, christian science, creationists would be lose the right to vote and conservatives can get rid of the burden of kow-towing to the faith based theocrats that would insist that america be a christian version of muslim countries...
I would love to see the numbers on percentage of GOPs vs libertarians that support the separation of church and state...
libertarians = what does the constitution say?
religious bible belt GOPs = what would jesus say? or what does the bible say? even though majority of them dont study the bible or scripture enough to even tell you what it really says...
just mindlessly follow and vote what ever views they have been told are "christian"
getting rid of the religious wackonutjobs through testing is the smartest thing the conservatives could do...

#22 Posted: 2/3/2012 3:18:16 PM DL testing would weed out vertually the same number of people on both sides. |

#23 Posted: 2/3/2012 4:02:53 PM I wonder where I fit in...
Liberal in my teens and early twenties, but now I'm right leaning with my train of thought.
I smoked a lot of dope in my teens, maybe the studies are wrong, and it does have long term effects.
Anyway, WSC I ask that you not box me, for I never inhaled good sir.

Nothing wrong with that.
Winston Churchill said "If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart. If you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain." |

I'm familiar with his quote... one of my favourites.
That being said, I guess for those of us that Churchill's quote applies, we get dumber with age, according to this study anyway.
