#7 Posted: 12/18/2012 6:15:06 PM Economy is fine, don't listen to the doom and gloom media. I go to catch a flight, the airport is jammed. I go to watch a football game, place is jammed. I go shopping on a day off mind you, the stores are jammed. People are spending, a great sign.

where i am at. its down down down,
people are not spending, consumer spending has stopped in recent weeks.
as for the automarkets, used car sales are up, new ones look bad for the month of dec so far.
and yes the airports are somewhat packed because people are dying all over the place and funeral arrangements are skyrocketing. the 70 and 80 year olds are perishing at alarming rates.

#10 Posted: 12/22/2012 3:59:24 AM Housing has actually been growing last few months, while business investment has been on the decline. This kind of push/pull in the economy is why it is only mediocre.
As esplande mentioned, labor participation rate hasn't been this low in decades. Too many people have been on the sidelines too long not working. You can't have the stock market testing near all-time highs again , and having this fundamental problem... and federal debt so astronomically high.. It just doesn't make sense.
Only Ben Bernanke can make the stock market defy gravity like this.. And this is a dangerous game he is playing.

#13 Posted: 12/26/2012 1:58:35 PM There are 1.6 million job openings in cloud computing. If you learn specific skill sets you are set for life. Writing apps is another skill set that people are making a killer living at.

#16 Posted: 1/10/2013 11:09:19 PM S&P and Dow are both near 5-Year highs I believe.
Still hard to believe considering the country is still on mediocre footing. Too many people are still underemployed or unemployed.
