The biggest pain about using Covers from my MotorolaQ is that the pages take so long to load b/c of all the data contained at the top of each page.  I can't access covers at work, but for those with the same problem I've found a good solution that makes it easier to read the forums.

Save the forum home page of your favorite sport to your favorites.  I did this for hockey.  I would then go into Lipps/3HockeyGirls thread and save it to my favorites.  That way I would only have to wait for one page to load, in order to, read my favorite thread everyday.  Call me Capt Obvious, but it saved me at least 20 minutes a day.

Mr Covers- Great idea. I can't 'test' the program for my Motorola Q.  Is it not available for that model?

Hey WhizWithout,

Thanks for all of the input. We're working on adding the forums to this application.

As for the Motorola Q we're trying to figure out how to add this model too.

Cheers,

Hey jgregson,

We need a bit more info from you please.

Did it install on your phone?

If so, did you get a no connection to the internet message when you ran it on your phone?

Thanks,

Hey WhizWithout

Motorola Q by default does not come with JVM (java virtual machine).

We've found a few places that you can download it to your Motorola Q.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=279600

You would probably just need the smaller version called J9_tiny 6.1.0.20060727-102926.CAB

You can just point your browser to the CAB package or download and copy the cab to your Motorola Q.

We don't have a Motorola Q on site to test, so if you get it going we would love to get your feedback.

Thank you,
Mr_C

I submitted my mobile number, received the text message, clicked on link and got message "no gateway reply" which I think means I couldn't access the web page.

Hey jgregson,

From the Website
On the covers website itself, not your phone, put your phone number in the first option on this page and press submit and a text message will be sent with a link to the download.

From your phone
Or you can navigate to http://www.covers.com/mobile/get.html  on your phone and you'll get a download now link.

Cheers,

Hello Everybody,

We added the forums to the phone now too. So you can check out your favorite posts on the phone.

We also added send to a friend, so you can send the application to friends you think would like to have it on their phone too.

Cheers,
Mr_C

Why do I have to "ok" it every time I change menu option? thats a pain in the behind to keep doing. Also starters and other game info. ESPN and MBL can give live scores but you guys should be giving betting info not just the odds. All in all it a good idea but need lots of work. For all numbers trying he beta we should get FREE SERVICE atleast for the first year it you charge. Thanks

Also I have the Blackjack phone and the program does work fast. Alerts of injuries key players not playing due to personal issuses, etc. Most of all Match up info is the best so please put it on it or tell me how to find it. Thanks again

Hey amg88,

Thank you for the feedback. We'll add alerts, starters and matchup info to the list of possible new features. Great to hear your opinion.

Have downloaded and installed the software on my Nokia E62.  When I go to covers.com/mobile I get the message - the requested page cannot be displayed.  Is that the correct address for the mobile version of Covers?

Thanks.

Hey jgregson,

Most devices save the application under the ‘Applications’ menu in your phone or PDA. You may also find it in the ‘Downloads’ menu. It’s called ‘Covers Mobile’.

Do you see it on either of these areas on your phone?

Thank you,
Mr_C

Found it under Apps, opened and connected.  Navigation difficult as you have to press the shift key every time you want to enter a number to move around the site.  Am I missing something?

Hey jgregson,

We'll look into this a bit further and get back to you.

You shouldn't have to use the shift key at all. Can you navigate using the number pad and using the number 5 as submit?

2 = up
8 = down
5 = submit
4 = left
6= right

Thanks,
Mr_C

Maybe I am stating the obvious but the number keys are also letter keys and when I press a number nothing happens.  Have to press the shift key then a number key to navigate.

Hey jgregson,

Sorry about that. We don't have a Nokia e62 phone on site, so we're trying to troubleshoot without the phone present.

We'll look into alternatives, so we can get around certain users having to hit the shift key.

Thank you for your feedback.

Sincerely,
Mr_C

on a blackberry using the app.  the colors are a little hard on the eyes and really contrasted, not fun to look at for any length of time, especially the side menu.  I couldn't find a way to change the colors at all.  how about a way to change that or make it a simple white background with black text.

also, wondering instead of an app why not just make the site itself more mobile friendly?

Hey jackjaffee,

Thank you for the feedback. We'll look at both of those possibilities in the future. The future will demand website design to be more mobile friendly, so we'll get down that path sooner than later.

Cheers,
