http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

This thing will stop processes that are running and allow you to clean up the mess. Highly recommend!

Malwarebytes wouldn't run until I used RKill first.

RKill stopped the process from running, malwarebytes did the cleanup.

You should also look at Combofix from bleeping computer.  I will usually use Combofix before we run Malwarebytes.

How does Super AntiSpyware compare to Combofix or RKill?

I got the MS Removal tool virus and downloaded this:
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/download/anti-virus/rkill

RKill.com did not work. Next I:

I just dowloaded Malwarebytes to remove MS Removal Tool and it didn't work. Now what should I do.
Only think Malwarebytes removed as a trojan virus. Somebody please help the noob.

Let me start over.
I got the virus.
I downloaded Rkill.com and it didn't work.

I then had to start windows in safe mode in networking to download Malwarebytes because it wouldn't download and open in regular mode.
I did a full scan and only thing was a trojan virus that was removed.

I still have that shitty behind blue box of the MS Removal tool popping up every now and then.Help the noob out.

Sorry, I was in covers jail & could not reply.

RKill is available under many different file names, and some of them do get shut down by the virus. Pick a differently named RKill file & try that.

Ok, I got the MS Removal Tool virus again for the second time and had to do another system restore but this time there is something wrong. When I click on a different tab it takes a few seconds for that tab to open up the window and when I type any letters they don't appear instantly sometimes. There is a slight delay in typing any letters sometimes. Also when I click on different tabs I get the not responding message and it takes ten seconds to wait for the window to open.

Any way to get my speed back to normal.

read this link on the malwarebytes site, contains a post helping someone with removal of the MS Removal Tool as well as some other good advice to follow:

link

be sure to read everything careful since not everything will pertain to your specific scenario and some of it was specific for the user in the forum.  But it should give you an idea of what to do.

Just got the MS virus last night...........Bleepingcomputer rules. I've used the site a couple previous times to fix my laptop & others'.

I got rid of it following the directions but the last step about the HOST files leaves me a bit confused. I tried it but couldn't figure out how I was supposed to delete the existing ones.

Oh well, it seems to be working fine now.........glad I have 2 laptops. Makes it easier to work on the bad one.

Does anyone have the MBAM Pro version? Does it work in a preventive manner?

Yes, it's worth getting the pro version. Automatic updates and it is proactive in protection
