This is the new show about an escaped serial killer who has a following of groupies doing his bidding.  Stars Kevin Bacon and the pilot was on last night.  I would say I love the concept.  Thought the pilot was okay at best.  Also thought that Kevin Bacon who I actually think is a fine actor really phoned at least last nights performance in.  Thoughts?

I agree..thought it would be a lot better. Might give next
week a try.

I think they scewed up the casting...Would be more interesting with Kevin Bacon as the serial killer.

That would be interesting.  I am afraid the serial killer has a limited role and it will be a spotlight on a different follower each week.

I am really disappointed if the lead FBI chick is a part of the cult.  I got the same WTF vibes that Kevin Bacon got when she was going off about Joe and I said I bet she is a part of the following.  Then the end scene where so delivers the Edgar Allan Poe book to him.  I hope it is all explained away and that this storyline is not this predictable.

Is she part of the following or just using her cult-expertise to get inside his head?

Also, the end scene where the guy gets torched -- was that guy of any significance or just a random person?

He was a critic of Joe's book.  Great episode this week.  Especially when unveiling the master plan as it relates to Joey.

I liked following The Killing, and was looking forward to this one, but it didn't grab me.

Probably wait til it's on netflix and kill it in one weekend.

Actually picking up and getting quite good!  This week we found out why the show is called, "The Following" and it is different that I expected (slightly).

i lasted 3 episodes before throwing in the towel. It just seemed like this show was getting stale and would probably get canceled anyway...

Jays... it is not because all of these people are following Joe like a cult. Rather each person is like a cell, has a small role in the big picture and is assigned a certain person important to the big picture to follow. Hence the following.

How'd Claire get back to her house when the FBI gave up the chase in the warehouse?

KQC... I wondered the same thing.  In the end I just accepted it as fact.  Not sure if they are going to finish that part of the story later, it was cut in the editing room as unimportant or just a glaring hole.

So who isn't a bad guy on this show? What do you think it meant nr the end when the Parker (fbi cult expert) pulled out that necklace/emblem thing from her purse?  Iirc, she had made a reference to ppl needing to find a place where they fit in

I honestly don't know.  Remember earlier in the series she brought a Poe book to Joe and asked to be alone with him and no cameras.  Not sure if they want us to question her the whole time only to find out that maybe Claire was working with Joe the whole time and that is how she got away, because they let her.  Kind of like watching one hand the whole time and missing the other hand right in front of  you.  Something to think about.  But to answer your question more directly I think she was just reminising like she was doing all episode long.  I am sure she is a little messed up being a part of that "organization" during her childhood.

Cool, I thought about giving up on this show a couple times but get drawn back in.  Hardy being a smart alec while being held captive was some of his better moments on the show.

I caught up on all the episodes On Demand...I just watched the episode where the 2 gays and a girl kidnappers get away from the house...That place woulda been crawling with agents, cops, etc...

And the dude who had the wife in the basement of a building, he sets off a lame smoke bomb, runs thru a door and the FBI guys just stand there like "Shyt, he got away, that sucks." And I can't figure out how they knew where to find her.

I know it's just a show, don't take it so damn serious and all that, but this show has jumped off the rails for me.
