felt the need to weigh in here after last night's horrific episode:

let me start by saying, love this series, and, until last night...was loving this season....but last night....WOW:

initially (1), after teasing us for years when/where Deb would find out about Dexter and what the fallout would be...and having a few good episodes this season as she struggled with it and what to do, and the prior one where she was "glad" he killed someone (something I found very interesting)....she now has suddenly decided shes just going to completely overlook it...."I decided I don't want to know about it anymore"....REALLY??....tell me this isn't how this ends...her turning a blind eye, all else back to normal....

next (2), the mob/drug lord storyline.....after being personally confronted and having BOTH his and Deb's lifes threatened....Dexter decides he can't or won't kill him?   again.....REALLY?  this after the Trinity and the mistake he made not killing him when he first had the chance (something he swore he'd NEVER allow to happen again)....he insteads concocts some ridiculous scheme to have him offed by rival drug gang.....WHAT?.....I couldnt' believe the ridiculousness of how this played out.....

and finally, now the remainder of the season will revolve around that blond dumb (albeit it hot) girl....REALLY?.....sure mob guy likely gets back involved somehow, but that is already awful...see point 2..

this season went to hell in one episode IMO.....lazy unimaginative writing...and I personally don't see how it drags itself out of it

The first two episodes were great and then it seemed like each episode after that got worse and worse.

I really hope they can right the ship on this season, but it feels like they are down 35-10 at halftime.  I’m not exactly holding my breath for a miraculous comeback.

I really didn't get why he started banging out Hannah after he was about to kill her. Of course she's hot and all, but I didn't really get it. Just because she wasn't scared to die?

It really made no sense.  It completely went against his character.

Quinn throwing his career away on a stripper he met 30 minutes ago makes more sense than what Dexter did there.

Really enjoyed episode 8.

Dex / Deb realationship is awesome as is Dex and the Russian bad guy.

Can't wait to see how close La Guerta gets to the truth about Dex and how he remedies the situation.

Previously had no feelings for Hannah but loved her recation when she saw Dex's kids.

Debra kills LaGuerta, for Dexter of course,  write it down...

I'm good with this season and still look forward to viewing every week. This show is still much better than most of the other garbage (I did not use a bad word here) on the boob tube today.

Homeland is SO much better than what Dexter currently is.

The character turnover and plot lines are a total joke the last few years and this one especially.

The way they built up this Russian antagonist and then off him in such a stupid way is just another example of the total lack of writing skill on the show.

agreed....complete waste of time was that plot it seems...plus now, with 3 episodes to go in the season...they are going to rush and throw together a story re: the arsonist killer, who we already know from the early interactions with dex and the previews is the fire investigator guy....why should we care about that exactly?   i think this season is arguably the worst yet

Imo dexter is getting better than homeland.....

Homeland has some incredibly unrealistic plot twists at the moment for a show that's supposed to be believable.

I think Deb tampered with her own water to set Hannah up. Dexter was almost cured of his asexualness, how could you let that fine piece of Azz go to jail?? WTF! She was set up by Deb.

How does Dexter get out of this mess? Does he kill Laguerta? Hannah has so much dirt on him... why wouldn't he just kill her?

Now that the season is over I have to say overall I was kind of disappointed considering the hype and how good the first two episodes were. However, I think this season was still MUCH better than the last two (of course that’s not really saying much).

Next season is the last one and the producers/writers said before this season started that they already knew how they were going to end it.

I can’t say I’ll be counting off the days until the next season starts, but I will be very eager to see how it all ends for Dexter Morgan.

One side note: For some reason Jennifer Carpenter (Debra) looked a lot better this season.

I never really thought she looked good before, but this season I kept noticing how… I wouldn’t quite say hot… enticing she was.

I'm praying for more James Doakes flashbacks this season, he was so good for this show, it really went downhill after that. With an exception given for season 4 with John Lithgow, who played a great psychopath
