There are three things I love about Fall... (1) FOOTBALL first and foremost, (2) the change of seasons as I love the crisp nature of the fall because I think both winter and summer drag on a little too long sometimes, and (3) return of Sons of Anarcy!

I was wondering if I was gonna have to make this thread.

Met a woman that likes this show today.

Anyways,

Just noticed that it's a 2 hour season premiere.

Still got some of my 40oz left.

Pretty badass season opener.

I'm glad they have more going on than just the Clay/Jax storyline. That garbage is boring compared to burning daughters and murder charges for half the club

I cannot remember a more dramatic season opener for any series more than 2 seasons old!  Utterly amazing.  I was speechless the vast majority of it and especially the aforementioned burning!  Opie selling his bike!  Jax in hiding!  Wow just wow!

I just realized something...In this episode the nomad chapter wanted to come in off the road and join samcro. They were voted in..At the end of the episode it shows dudes breaking in and beating on Unser, one of them had a fake leg.

One of the Nomads was named Greg the peg...hmmm

Where was Unser when that happened again? Why the hell would they want to attack him?

Earlier in the episode (when bobby rolls up and they're all happy to see him) the new sheriff is at the clubhouse asking about 3 different break-ins and beatings in Charming. All happened to people close to the sons. One of them is a mechanic who works for them.

The episode ends with a break in at Unser's place(?) and one of them has a fake leg. I'm assuming it's the nomads, or at least one of them, working for someone or sending a message..idk.

Never cared much about Jimmy Smits in NYPD Blue or just about anything else, but I think this part is his calling.

If nothing else he has a great business running there.

Great 1st episode.

Someone refresh my memory.....I know who Abel is but what's the history of the other boy?

I think Clay is behind the Nomad chapter breaking in and stomping people.

The way he looked after Unser called to tell him to come over to his house and then he said 'find my safe' and it showed the nomads throwing the safe in the dumpster. He wanted what was in the safe but needed it to look like a robbery.

Son of a girl this was a good episode.

I would have bet money it was going to be the Irish dude that died. And that would have sucked...But Opie? That's just friggin sad.

Man I just knew that Opie was gonna be the one to get killed. At first I thought he was gonna volunteer, but it happened anyway.

That stuff with Gemma and Clay was a little forced.

You guys notice the prostitute that Clay was with?? I think it was a former Mickey Mouse club girl. I think her name is Ashley Tisdale. Don't ask me how I know that. I think she used to have quite a shnaz, but got a nose job and is pretty smoking now.

I am still in shock that Opie is gone!  My favorite character off the show!  Sucks a$$!!!  I honestly thought Jax was going to go in there and kick a$$.  The revenge angle will be good this year.  Jax has a lot of scores to settle.

The Gemma fueding with Tara storyline bothers me, that and Gemma/Clay..they always cut back to that garbage after every commercial break.

friggin Opie man..The one guy that wasn't suppose to be in jail, didn't want to play gangster biker is the one that dies? Some bullshit.

It kinda plays into the Shakespearean aspect of the show tho'. The prince's guardian gets killed, time to grow up or whatever.

Shocked yes - Opie one of my favorites. RIP.
However he lost his wife; Lost his father; Lost faith in the club; So he was ready to go. This also inspires the New Jax.
No more Mr nice Jax. He will be seeking Vengeance.

There was some real insight into Opie's death posted on the FX SOA message board.  One person really hit the nail on the head when he said that Opie was the last moral compass the Reaping Crew had.  With him gone and Jax transformation into Clay complete there is going to be a lot of bloodsheed.  It had to be Opie that sacrificed himself at the alter of the Son's one last time as he has already given so much... his wife, his dad, his kids, no one else would be as sincere as Opie.  Opie truely loved Jax and this was his way of proving it but also his way to making lasting impression that Jax's lies and deceit is what put them in this mess and Opie once again cleaned it up.  I have no doubt in my mind that Jax is going to clean house starting with the guard, then Pope and his crew, then Clay and maybe ending with Tig.  Amazing story writing with Tara turning into Gemma and Jax turning into Clay... both people I am sure if you ask them are people they hate most in this world but it goes to show you something what you hate most you become.

I'm starting to hate Gemma as much as I hate Clay. Not very realistic Gemma going after the prostitute when they pretty much look the other way on that type of thing. Considering she made no bones about telling him to get lost and he beat her to a pulp. Now she's going to go into a jealous rage over that broken down murderer? Not really her hard behind style (IMO) to give him the satisfaction.

Scenes with Jax and Pope were awesome. Opie was a great character and it's a shame he's gone but there's no shock value unless it's him.

It's a great show that's nearing the end of it's run.
