#12 Posted: 2/16/2012 5:05:07 PM C - Wilson Ramos 1B - Paul Goldschmidt (points only, not roto with his awful avg) 2B - Kipnis and Ackley are everyone's sleeper picks, problem is they're being drafted 2-3 rounds ahead of Aaron Hill...no way, watch Hill go 25-15 this yr, ADP is 16th rd in 12 teamers 3B - Lawrie is the young stud here, but there will be so many bounce back yrs at this position SS - Dee Gordon if you need some speed in roto OF - so many: Bourjos, Fowler, Morrison, Maybin, Duda, Tabata
Problem is, most of these guys you would only want in a deep league, like NFBC or something....also, some guys are good for roto/bad for points or vice versa

I saw Aceves pitch a lot when he was in New York and he has the potential to win 15 games on the Redsox. His ideal spot is a long middle reliever, but is okay as a starter.
He's been in the bigs like 3 or 4 years I think, so not much of a sleeper.
As for Bard, Bailey is the closer so not much value in owning Bard. |

#14 Posted: 2/22/2012 3:55:47 PM C- J.P. Arencibia (20-25+ homers for a catcher is impressive) Russell Martin (Now that he isn't splitting time)
1B- J. Morneau (Bounce back year, should be passed over til late) R. Howard (To be back in Early-Mid May and is projected to go way later than his number should be by the end of the year.) J. Smoak (Primed for a great year in the clean up spot for seattle) G. Sanchez (Great numbers with an revamped Miami O)
2B- N. Walker (Love Walker on a Pit team that's only getting better) H. Kendrick (Should have respectable numbers in all five cats) M. Cuddyer (eligibility is huge here with Troy and C.Gonz in front of him) M. Young (Same thing here in eligibility, great offense surrounds a .300 hitter = only good things can happen)
3B- A. Rod (he's still on everyone's radar but projected in the 50's or 60's... this is ridiculous. A-Rod has hit 100 RBI's in every season but last (injury) and in his rookie campaign where he played half a season. I will believe the decline when I see it happen regularly.) A. Ramirez - (Big pressure spot with his move to Mil to fill Prince's shoes. If Braun is out 50 games look for him to carry most of the offense at a near .300 pace.) Mike Moustakas - (KC has a good team and their young bats are only going to get better. Look to him to come close to duplicating his AAA lines, which were better than Hosmer's.)
SS- Jhonny Perrelta (he is going to benefit big from the newly revamped offense) D. Gordon - (Looks good to be a top 5 in SB with a .300 avg. Won't do much more but 50 sb is 50 sbs. Still needs to learn how to walk though)
OF- Michael Brantley (Could be permanent lead off hitter, had big numbers when Sizemore was out of this spot) Delmon Young (He's old and most people are pointing to Boesch but hitting directly behind the power positions should give him ample RBI looks) Josh Willingham (Should hit behind Morneau and Mauer) R. Braun (If you draft before the court hearing you may be able to scoop him later which will pay off when his 50 game ban is lifted)
SP- Julio Teheran - (he's a beast and should be in the rotation by the end of May.) J. Johnson - (On a revamped Miami team he could be poised for that Cy Young year.) Max Scherzer - (Should be dominant this year in Detroit, he almost was last year.) Vance Worley - (love this kid in philli. Had a great half year and looks to improve on that performance.) A.J. Burnett (I know many will laugh at this but with a huge difference in opponents from the AL East, Burnett could regain form. Could be a very good bargain bin pick up)
RP- J. Walden (love this kid. he has many forgetting about K-Rod and that big year he had) G. Balfour (I expect him to close in Oakland and well since the A's generally never score runs when he comes in he should always have a shot to close)

#15 Posted: 2/22/2012 4:56:15 PM C - Saltalamacchia very late2B - Neil Walker (going way too late IMO) 3B - Moustakas OF - Brennan Boesch, had him last year and he'll get more playing time this year. Lots of upside with him.

Cervelli will still get a start or two a week, so Martin is still sharing time. They got rid of Montero, but he wasn't really a catcher. |

#20 Posted: 2/28/2012 10:47:48 AM update: hosmer going too early, rather go GOLD of ARIZ or duda of NYM
ackley is going off as the 8-9th 2nd basemen in most h2h drafts...
de aza is going undrafted in most leagues... hes the leadoff batter for the Whitesox
bard is going undrafted hes penciled in as the #4 (projected starter) his slider is nasty. |

#22 Posted: 3/29/2012 5:51:28 PM some i took or wanted to take
cespedes, ackley, goldschmidt, mccarthy, werth, rasmus, morrow, leubke, dunn, j. montero, choo, sale, chapman
morrow with k's just needs to grow up mentally and he will be nasty
i love taking guys who have consistently performed at their levels and then had a bad year and are way undervalued for what they can give you.
had no choice but to take braun at 8 last night, but a little scared as he will almost surely regress, and factor no prince, roids, and possible mental distractions i am nervous. had ellsbury in 2nd round and not crazy about drafting a small hitter coming off 32 bombs, surely wont happen again. |

#23 Posted: 3/30/2012 2:16:41 AM bard and aceves look ok. deeper leagues and leagues that are 12 man w. 5 man benches...
lorenzo cain, goldy, and de aza are must in deeper leagues too. even 10 man leagues cain should be owned.
duda is a stud too. hes OF 1B egil in most leagues...
cain/goldy/deaza should all see 600 PLATE appearances pending injury
gamel wont be playing first everyday becuz corey hart will man some games at 1B.
gamel should be in about 110-120 games. but thats it.
so if gamel actually hits at an early pace of 30 bombs he wont be playing first everyday. thats how i see it. |

#24 Posted: 3/30/2012 2:21:18 AM gordon/ delmon young/ brantley are on my radar too...
theyre all going way to late in h2h leagues that are deep.
delmon could do 30/100/.290+ if hes locked in.
boesch could do 23-27/85/.290 too if hes locked for the entire year.
brantley has a lot of talent just hasnt put it all together yet...
another good player is C young of ARIZ... hes up for contract in 2 years but hes wants an ext now, so hes figuring out how to hit again and could actually hit better than .265 w. 30 bombs and 20 SB which is good because he could outdo his draft position. |
