Clearly a two horse race and we'll know more when they do the first heats next saturday but I'm liking Bolt at just a shade of odds on at the moment, you would have fallen over yourself to get that price say a year ago.

Yes, the disqualification and beaten by Blake in the trials but Blake didnt win in an insane time and what matters is next week not the Jamaican trials.
I'm a subscriber to the form is temporary, class is permanent school of thought so Bolt could be a big bet for me next sunday

Thoughts?

we all remember how Bolt crushed the opposition at Beijing but in track and field circles many doubt that Bolt will be able to revisit his 08/09 form. also the competition at London looks more formidable on paper ...
Yohan Blake (9.75 June 2012) is full of confidence and is the reigning world champion in the 100m dash. why did Bolt jump the gun in Dageu? was Blake already in his head? their coach had to separate them during training sessions because Blake was blitzing Bolt out of the blocks. Blake is on fire right now and he is in the same class as Bolt. check out the his 200m times and you can see he has the speed endurance necessary to hold off Bolt.
Justin Gatlin (9.80 June 2012) set a PR at the olympic trials in June. Gatlin is on a redemption tour with his sights set on an olympic medal.
Asafa Powell (9.72 September 2008) will probably be the first out of the blocks but his nerves and age may not allow him to be competitive after 60 meters.
Tyson happy (9.69 September 2009) is a class act and with a little bit of luck he could win gold. in 2008 happy was in Bolt-like form but suffered a hamstring strain at the US trials. he has clocked 19.58 in the 200m dash so speed endurance is a strength and he recently beat the US champion so he appears fit.
Bolt is the favorite and rightly so. but i think there is a 50% chance he doesn't win the race so i will play the field at plus odds. good luck whatever you decide.

well that was impressive from bolt, he was  "cantering" to the finish line with 30m to go, still clocked 9.87, should be tough to beat in the final.

Yea Bolt looked good.. But he was going against a bunch of bums..No pressure at all..

I still like the field for a small play, definitely value their.. Hopefully he gets off to a bad start.. His closing is absurd

Field +275 is awesome though

Blake is +350, just too good to pass up.  Taking a shot at it.

True, but I honestly don't think anyone can beat Bolt except for Blake. If Powell or an American wins I'll eat my words
