Thomas Greiss starts for Phoenix. Kings goalie not confirmed yet. Will be Quick or Jones. Don't like the fact that the Kings are playing their 3rd game in 4 nights. Kings are stingy; when Coyotes are winning I see this game staying under 5 or a push.

Tonight the Phoenix Coyotes continue to be overvalued as they were favored at the opening of the line, but have seen themselves move to a pickem in most books.
Again, the only reason Phoenix has been getting respect is due to the simple fact that they took advantage of a hot start to the season (especially at home) while teams were trying to find their groove. Ever since mid november, they have been less than mediocre. They may have a 14-8-2-1 home record because of their surging start to the season, but they have now lost 7 of their last 10 home games.
Let's look at the last 20 games for the Coyotes.....they have 6 wins. 5 of them came against non playoff teams (two against the below average Devils and Senators, two against the last place Edmonton Oilers, one against the second last place Flames). The other win came against a very tired Vancouver Canucks team.
The Los Angeles Kings just broke out of a 5 game losing streak, by playing the strong defensive game that they know best, in San Jose last night. However, the mini slump was nothing to be embarrassed about. Within that stretch, the Kings had to play the Ducks (best team in hockey) twice, Bruins, and a surging Blue Jackets team. Tonight will be by far their easiest challenge on paper in ten days.
In terms of skill, structure, and ability, Los Angeles has the advantage in every single category. Phoenix might be experiencing a false sense of accomplishment after coming back against a perceived defensive Canucks team, when in reality, Vancouver looks really lost on the back end without their coach. They will not have any room against the Kings. Even on a back to back, the Kings should have the major edge here.
