I don't think Atlanta is a juggernaut, and the Saints could win this game...but I think an Atlanta win is much more likely.  The Saints have beaten TB, SD, and Philadelphia.  Not exactly an impressive list.  The Saints lost to KC, their defensive problems haven't gone away, and the Sproles injury will still affect them.  It's not a lock, but Atlanta is the better value at -2.5.

Dirty Birds go 9-0!  These are NOT the  Eagles. I see a "statement game" coming.

If ATL were to lose a game this season it would probably be to there arch nemesis New Orleans. No doubt that the Saints will come out to play there hardest against ATL to play upset spoiler. But, bare this in mind that this is the first of 2 division rivalry games between the 2 teams. So in order for the Saints to have a turn around season it starts with this game! That's just my opinion....

Atl at 8-0 and the thinking has to of begun about the 'undefeated' season. They get Ari next week and are likely sensing an 10-0 record. However,in the words of Lee Corso every saturday morning.."Not So Fast"..and it's that very sense of a 10-0 record will be the reson for this 'egg' being layed the Falcons.

I'll take NO,Hou,Jets on a 3 team M/L parlay and tease and bet them again.

ATL will have to lose a game, this is where Bree's kill the Birds down. I like the Saints here, good money  here.

Is it me or is Atlanta becoming the Rodney Dangerfield of the NFL? They just don't get any respect from oddsmakers. Last week their record stood at 7-0 and they were only laying 4 at home against a 3-4 Cowboy team. And this week they are laying only 2.5 against a 3-5 Saints team that statistically has one of the worst defenses in the league. What gives Vegas?

Well, after some careful analysis I've concluded that this might finally be the time to jump off the Falcons bandwagon. Let's take a look at the career numbers for the Brees v Matty Ice rivalry that started back in 2008.

-Brees is 6-2 vs the Falcons since Matty Ice became the starter. Throwing for an average of 319 yards a game, completing 68% of his passes with 19 TDs and 10 INTs.
-Ryan is 2-6 in the matchup, but he did win one of those games in New Orleans. A 27-24 overtime thriller. Other than that, Ryan hasn't been the reason for his teams inability to beat the Saints. He has thrown for an average of 280 yards a game, completing 59% of his passes with 10 TDs and 5 INTs.

Brees has clearly had Matty Ice's number. I think you have to be intrigued by getting the saints as a dog at home after that Monday night performance.  I thought the Saints were going down last week, but I was dead wrong.  Last week they played a lot like the team that was 13-3 last year and won a championship in the 2009 season.  They ran the ball effectively, put pressure on the quarterback, created turnovers, and Drew Brees played his typical A-game.

I think it's possible that Steve Spagnolo finally got through to his defense.  While I attribute a lot of those QB pressures to an inept Philly offensive line, I think it's a step in the right direction.  Will they have the same success against Atlanta....probably not.  But I think given the way Atlanta barely beat the Cowboys last week, the Falcons are probably due for a cooler.  I still think they are a better team and will win the next matchup when they play them again in the Georgia Dome. But for now, I am going with the team that looked more impressive last week and cannot afford to lose.  At 8-0 with a very comfortable dicision lead, its ok to lose a tough road game every once in a while. Given Drew Brees career 6-2 record vs Matty Ice, I'll grab the points on the home dog.

My prediction:  Saints pull off the upset 31-28.

NO has no coach, no coach = no gameplan.
ATL will CRUSH N'Orleans Twice. The only roadblock to an undefeated season fo ATL is the NYG. The rest are just pebbles in road. ATL has a very soft schedule facing lots of Roadkill.
ATL -2/2 1/2 is a gift. Take the gift and have a Merry Christmas

atl didnt inpress me at all last week against dallas. i had the over on a teaser and it was 6to6 or6to9 i cant remember, at the end of the 3rd quater. i mean dont get me wrong, their a good team, their 8n0. .@ATLians007, i like your post.in my own words, the saints are starting to look like a different team. kinda like S.D. does evey year. they did get some key staff back in the office and lockerroom. also this is a rivalry game for sure. just like pitt n baltimore, no matter how bad or good pitt n b-more's record is, they always play close games. so yeah, i can see N.O. winning. ATL is a great ball team but, their defently not the best team in the NFL. maybe their a lil better at home but,i beleave that the Chicago and a few other teams would smoke them. Denver vs Chicago in the superbowl...

GL to all

The Saints "D" is certainly not the Cowboys "D" - and that's going to be the difference in this game. Don't get me wrong - Brees & Co. will get theirs too, just I don't see the Falcons ever punting in this entire game, O.K., maybe once......

Also, I'm sick of saying "This is the week" - maybe there is no "week", maybe they do run the table. Who's left that can stop them? The Giants? We'll see.

reverse line movement has it at 1 now - blah, blah, blah

Falcons 44 Saints 28

I really don't think you can buy much into the Vegas numbers with this game because there's pretty much even money on both sides. So regardless what happens Vegas wont take a bath. However. The ml for the saints is only +120 so that tells me that Vegas still thinks there is a good chance the saints could win the game. At least they wouldn't be surprised. In my opinion I think the saints could still make a run. Atlanta will not go undefeated and if it was a perfect spot to lose a game. What better than in New Orleans against free Brees who is still a monster. I truly believe the saints could win this one in a shoot out to the likes of a 41 38 type game

Also. The undefeated Atlanta falcons. Straight up are on -135! That seems just way to good to be true. Just look at it from a basketball stand point. How many times is the better team on the road like -2 and -125 and you just want to jump all over it. And then they lose straight up. Also today number 9 undefeated Louisville was -110 to beat Syracuse in the some and they got smacked. Very interesting

If any team has a shot to beat the Falcons, why not the Saints at home?? Rarely do the Saints get points in their own house, I'll take it here.. Saints +2.5 for $300

fck No .......

N.O Defense is the worst, the fcking worst

Atl Offense is ridiculous, even if they slow down the passing which i highley doubt, Turner going to run through them. Philly suck behind team went right through them , they just couldnt punch it in.

I think people are over thinking too much, i stop doing that and i started killing the bookie.  I did get screwed on the Louiville gm though but thats not the nfl .
