#26 Posted: 9/4/2012 1:20:05 AM DIEHARD dallas fan here. since 1981. I've gotta go with....da Giants -4. It's true...every dog has their day, but until Dallas shows they have some BARK it's hard to believe in my team. Personally I have more faith and will bet more on over 45. it should a HIGH scoring kind of game |

#28 Posted: 9/4/2012 9:12:46 AM Gonna be a tough one, always is but i'll take the NYG. Even with the banged up secondary the Giants front line should keep the DAL offense in check. Also leaning under right now because of potential bad weather. |

#30 Posted: 9/4/2012 10:20:46 AM I'd side with the Giants here, but a beatdown is not in the cards. Make no mistake, Dallas has the starting WR horses to make replacement CB Coe have a nightmare day. Dez is simply a beast to deal with for an inexperienced guy like that. And Miles has the speed and physical game to torch him. Which leads to extra safety help, which opens up underneath routes and swing passes.
Let's not forget Nicks foot is not 100% and that's a big concern with any WR. Also, OT may be problematic from injury for NYG and Ware is no picnic. While I will side with NYG here, there are enough concerns there to prevent any type of blowout or easy cover. You certainly won't see the Cowboys secondary be a punching bag all game like last year, won't be that easy. |

#32 Posted: 9/4/2012 12:20:24 PM I hate the Dallas Cowbillies
and who elected them America's team anyway?
"The winner of the Superbowl has done great in their season opener the
following year since 2000 (9-2-1 ATS). The Giants should be able to get
out to a fast start against the Cowboys in week 1. Last season the
Giants won both games and shredded Dallas’s secondary for 746 passing
yards. Dallas also struggled on the road in division games last season
(0-3 ATS)." |

#33 Posted: 9/4/2012 12:32:38 PM Leaning Giants, however with everyone and their mom jumping right at them I have my concerns. I just think Romo is gonna get knocked on his behind early and often throughout the game.

Didn't Dallas' WRs play last year? Romo does not have security blanket Witten, so when he feels the pressure he's going to swallow the ball or force it. JPP has a big game (BTW, he going to lead the NFL in sacks), gets 3 sacks.
Who's going to cover Cruz? 49ers Rogers bit#hed about not knowing where Cruz was going to go. Plus Eli is smart, he's going to spot the weak areas quick.

#42 Posted: 9/4/2012 4:29:10 PM I'm new........ I'm picking the Dallas Cowboys in the first game of the season with the points. Yes, I realize NYG is last year's Super Bowl Champions. But the line has not moved since it's opening when everyone I know is picking the Giants. Hummmmmmmmm |

#43 Posted: 9/4/2012 6:15:57 PM The key to this game I believe will be the trenches. Skill players don't help too much when the QB is pressured all day. Dallas O-Line is sketchy. Between 2000 and 2011 the defending Super Bowl champion sports a 11-0-0 record in their first game of the next season. The closest outcome being a 3 point win by Pittsburgh over Tennessee in the season opener in 2008. Remember the Packers victory over Saints, 42-34, in the Season Opener last year?
NYG is a Super Bowl Champion playing on opening Sunday night at home. with a sketchy Dallas O-line, and a jacked up NY home crowd making snap counts hard to hear, I expect penalties, lots of pressure, and the Giants to easily cover -3.5, as Dallas starts the year in a rough fashion. These teams don't like each other and the Giants will be ready to make a statement.

#46 Posted: 9/4/2012 8:32:09 PM Basic stats & preliminary trends favor the G-men. However, overwhelming intangibles point to a possible Dallas win. I feel the contest will be close enough to at least get a Cowboy cover. Dallas usually plays full tilt in the first couple of games of the season, and have retooled strategy & personnel to at least split this series with the Giants.

#47 Posted: 9/4/2012 9:19:26 PM The public is hammering in with the Gmen.. 4 pts seem low for the world champs opening up at home. I was thinking it should be 5.5 or 5. Hmm, this sets up to be a trap. I think the Cowboys will keep this close until late in the 4th and the Gmen pull it out with a FG. Giants by 3. Give me the dog and the points.
Dal +4. TG for football!!! So happy the season is here!

#48 Posted: 9/4/2012 9:32:01 PM G-men -4? Really? Back it up and fill it with cash. Easy money. Romo will be hit early and late. Hell he may even get hit at halftime. 1 TD, 2 Picks. G-men. |
