The Patriots didn't beat a single team with a winning record in the regular season, New England, whose lone win this season against an above .500 team came last week against the Ravens.

The Giants have had success attacking the quarterback with 4 or fewer pass rushers this postseason, and it continued with 3 sacks of Alex Smith. Tom Brady only took 1 sack against the Ravens' standard pressure, but had one of his worst games of the year against 4 or fewer rushers.

The last sixteen favorites to score 30 or less points are 2-14-1 ATS, an interesting stat considering that Tom Coughlin’s teams have surrendered more than 28 points in only three of 15 postseason games while Bill Belichick’s troops have tallied more than 28 points in just six of 24 playoff contests.

The 2012 Super Bowl will be the first in which quarterbacks who each have a Super Bowl MVP award will play against one another. New England's Tom Brady is one of only four players to win it multiple times, with Joe Montana (three times) Terry Bradshaw and Bart Starr.

- This will be the third quarterback rematch in Super Bowl history. You will like the way the other two turned out, which is shown below:

The Giants (9-7) - who defeated Atlanta (10-6), Green Bay (15-1) and San Francisco (13-3) - are only the second team to reach the Super Bowl via playoff victories over three opponents with a better regular-season record than its own (Arizona, 2008).

Since '07, Brady has posted a 4-3 record in the postseason while tossing 16 touchdowns compared to 10 interceptions and recording a 90.0 quarterback rating. Don't get me wrong, those stats are far from awful but they are nowhere near Manning's.

Manning has a 7-1 record while throwing 14 touchdowns and only four interceptions and posting a 93.2 quarterback rating.

The quarterback ratings may be close, but the record is rather alarming and so is the interception total. Another interesting stat that is extremely lopsided in Manning's favor is that he has thrown 14 passes greater than 25 yards while Brady has only six.

Since '07, it's safe to label Manning as the better postseason quarterback than Brady—stats simply don't lie.

interesting stuff right????

Most started betting Giants, now most are betting Patriots
Line staying at 3
Over/under down .5
Most started on over, then most went under, now waffling back and forth with still a slight most on under

Okay folks all ATS and ML investments are off on the NY Giants. They are popping off at the mouth and giving NE ammunition for motivation at every turn. These young NY  Giant players AND they're big mouths are just pissing all over my homework..So now I'm using the Giants in 2 team(ncaa BB ) teaser parley(6pts).The 2500 units I was gonna use for the Superbowl and The Giants, like I said" has just been pissed on by young big mouth  inexperience Giant players in the press."Get ready for the parade","Tom Brady's aint this","Patriots over rated".They're just giving away motivation for NE at every other SuperBowl press session.Im doing my home work now looking for my best college BB game or a good NBA game to go with the NYGiants pick for a solid 2 team parley ,with my book.Oh I still have the Giants, just protecting myself, because of the stupid comments being made by The Giants. My book gives me even plays on a two team 6pt parley.Lucky for me there's a few sweet college games I can take advantage of + two NBA games thats sweet as well.Good Luck fellas!!

And thats your argument...Denver and  no Offense Baltimore??

How about the Giants going into Greenbay and taking them behind the woodshed, and dont want to hear that GB was rusty, thats a lame excuse. The Giants went the road the following week beat SF in they're back yard and your Reason your taking NE is Denver and Baltimore?? Man save your money!!

IF THE GIANTS WIN ON SUNDAY, THEY WOULD HAVE WON 1 SUPERBOWL IN EACH OF THE LAST 4 DECADES:

1986(JAN87)1990(JAN91)2007(FEB08)2011(FEB12).

ESSENTIALLY WINNING IT'S 1ST 2, THEN LOSING 1, THEN WINNING IT'S NEXT 2.

IT WILL HAPPEN IN 4 YR INTERVALS.

FOR IT'S 4TH SUPERBOWL.

ON 2 DIFFERENT MONTHS.

ESSENTIALLY WINNING IT'S 1ST 2, THEN LOSING 1, THEN WINNING IT'S NEXT 2. OR IN NYC AREA CODE: 212

Since I don't have a dog in this fight ( Eagles fan ) I can look at this as a true betting oppurtunity. For one thing I'm staying away from the Gronkowski drama and the previous Superbowl revenge thing and look at it as it should be ----a game . These defences match up well --expect a lot of short passing and running from both offence's, but a completed long pass here and there won't be unusual.A low scoring first quarter won't surprise me ,even a low scoring first half is possible.Things break open in the second half for both teams on offence with more scoring on both sides.Fourth quarter : Brady and Manning are both clutch Q.B.'s and both are prone to mistakes also, enter special teams. This is going to be a close one people and it could go either way--line is N.E. -3  o/u  54 so I'm going to take a 6 point tease on this game ----- Giants +9  under 60 for the large as the doctor would say and hope I'm right. GOOD LUCK ALL !!!!

Giants Upset. Pats get REVENGE! Just as predicted as Giants have been getting PUBLIC interests for a couple weeks into the playoffs. They are not a playoff team and they are just a mere tool for betters. Keep Pounding the Giants, more money my way as I will be laying the points on Pats. GL!

Best bet in this Super Bowl is on the 'under'. This is one of the highest totals in Super Bowl history and I don't think that these are two of the best offenses in Super Bowl history. The last Super Bowl when these two met in 2007 the total was set at 52.0 and there was just 31 points scored! When these two teams met earlier in the season there was just 44 points scored and a lot of them came in the last two minutes of the game. The team that wins this game is the one that plays the best defense. Both of these teams know they have to stop the other team and all week that is all they have heard about that. The defenses are going to be extremely motivated. They have also had two weeks to study their opponents again. That is all a big benefit to the defense. The 'under' is 8-2 in New York's last 10 playoff games and they haven't given up over 20 points yet this postseason. And they faced a very good Green Bay offense. The Patriots haven't given up over 24 points since Dec. 11. Their defense gave up just 10 and 20 so far in the playoffs. They are playing better than people are giving them credit for. These are two excellent teams with defensive coaches. They are going to play a tough rivalry game and this one is going to be lower scoring than most of the experts are predicting. I am not going to worry about who wins but I am going to load up on the 'under' in this game and take it to the bank!

Whale guy:

You are very funny with the she comments over and over. You really showed me. Now to get down to business.

The Patriots have been very tight lipped about injuries (The Belicheckian style) so I am very interested to see if Gronkowski suits up or not. From the many replays I saw during the game it looked like a serious sprain so he will not be at 100%. Most of the Pats offense is outta that 2 TE 2 WR 1 RB set, so if Gronkowski is less than 60%, or is used as just a decoy, this could spell trouble for the Pats.

On the other side of the football, the Giants have run the ball better of late and a few weeks off for Jacobs to get as healthy as possible is a good thing for the GMen. Eli has been playing out of his mind as of late but is still prone to interceptions (I believe he threw 16 INTs this year). The GMen defense also has played pretty solid even without the suffocating pass rush they were getting late in the year (They didn't get to Rodgers until the game was outta hand and Alex Smith is, well Alex Smith).

I think the Pats are playing with serious revenge here and the GMen can't play the nobody believes in us card as they did in Super Bowl 42. I give a slight edge to the Pats coming up with one of their Super Belicheck game plans and winning this game by a slim margin. NE with the hook. GLTA

I was thinking the same thing. Last game this season and 07 superbowl were unders. Also, I believe a lot of these defensive stats are misleading - both D's are looking good in the post season.

I agree 100%. The total is up in the stratosphere and the last game only got to 44 points because of a scoring frenzy during the 4th. I will be pounding the under with NE and the hook. GLTA

I think the G-men match up well on both offense and defense. Special teams may favor the Pats. It should be a hell of a game with two all star QB's and two very good coaches. Who's going to make the big mistake late in the game? That's your loser.

My pick is Giants +3 and Giants ML +115.  I don't play totals very much, but agree with the under as the defenses will be stout on Sunday.

My reasoning for my pick above: Eli is playing smarter now and making better decisions.  You can guarantee that Peyton and Archie Manning are helping Eli to get better.  In the playoffs, his decision making was superb and therefore less interceptions thrown.

If Eli can throw no interceptions or at worst one interceptions, Giants win with their defense and offense.  If Eli or the Giants have too many turnovers, Patriots win by 3 to 7 points.

Good luck my Covers friends!

OKAY YOU ALL, NUMEROLOGY ASIDE, THIS IS GOING TO BE AN OFFENSIVE GAME FOR THE AGES.
ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT THE UNDER IS THE LOCK ARE FORGETTING ABOUT HISTORY;

THIS IS THE MOST YARDS EVER THROWN COMBINED BY 2 QB'S IN A SEASON, DOES'NT EVEN COME CLOSE.

THERE HAS BEEN AS MANY OVERS AS UNDERS IN THE PLAYOFFS.

AND WHO HERE THINKS THAT BELICHICK DOES NOT HAVE A PLAN TO SCORE AT LEAST 3 TOUCHDOWNS BY HALFTIME? HE DOES NOT WANT TO GET INTO A SLUGFEST WITH NEW YORK. THEY ARE GONNA COME OUT SWINGING AND LET IT ALL OUT RIGHT FROM THE GET GO.

I GUARANTEE AT LEAST 4 BOMBS BY BRADY IN THE 1ST HALF. THEY KNOW THAT THE GIANTS D IS WEAKEST IN THE BACKFIELD AND THAT IS WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO EXPLOIT.

ANYONE BETTING ON THE UNDER IS GOING TO GET BURNED. THIS IS WHY THEY GAVE 2 WEEKS OF PREPARATION FOR THE SUPERBOWL, BECAUSE IF YOU ALL RECALL MOST SUPERBOWLS WERE ALL BLOWOUTS IN THE 80'S AND 90'S SO NOW THEY GIVE THE COACHES AND PLAYERS 2 WEEKS OF PREPARATION AS WELL AS HEALING.

BUT AT THE END, THAT'S THE THING ABOUT THE GIANTS THIS YEAR, THEY CAN PLAY AN ALL DEFENSIVE MATCHUP OR THEY CAN SCORE AT WILL. AT THE END I LIKE THE GIANTS TO MATCH UP WELL WITH ANYTHING BELICHICK AND CO WILL THROW AT THEM AND STILL BEAT THE PATS.

FOR HALF THE SEASON THE GIANTS PLAYED WITH AN INJURED D LINE AND AN OFFENSIVE LINE THAT HAS GONE THRU SOME BIG CHANGES THE LAST 2 YEARS, BUT THEY ARE ALL HEALTHY NOW AND COMING TOGETHER AT THE RIGHT TIME.

GIANTS 44, PATS 37
