Texans still have hope for a one-seed.  NE loses a game and Texans win out, and that's all it takes.  NE gets a cagey Dolphins team this week.  I think even more important than that, INDY wins another game and their first pick in the draft is in danger as they may now be tied with two other 2-win teams.  IMO, Colts got all they wanted last week...not to go winless.  Now they fold up shop and collect first pick in draft.  Texans will look to get back to winning ways and also take another shot at Colts teams that has been giving them headaches last several years.  Beatdown coming....this is my pick of week...even if you think Texans have just small motivation...the Colts have even less reason to want a win in this spot.

What this handsome gentleman said. Texans is fighting for a bye and a chance to play at home for the first time in the playoffs. Colts are saved from infamy and should play it safe in order to get first pick. I mean it's all speculative, maybe the Colts will play their best (haha) sportsmanship and whatnot. But if I was a Colts fan, I'd be cheering for Texans and Jaguars in the upcoming week.

Although... the Colts are playing at home. It'd be much easier to just laydown and show throat when you're away. But hell it's the Colts. I'd go with the Texans even if jobs and lives are on the line.

Going with Texans -6

I will back the Colts to cover their 4th in a row.  Vegas has been making their money back over the last 3 weeks (NE, BALT, TENN) from a slew of non covers by the Colts majority of the season.  Texans still have a rookie QB on the road so I think 6 is too much.  I see a 21-17, 23-20 type of ball game.  Im not concerned about draft pick status or any other angle other than I think there is value in the 6 with the home dog.  Vegas knows public will back Texans here in "must win game and Colts got their 1 win outta the way" philosophy.

Not sure if Indy can even score against Texans...

On another note, any word of Wade Philips being back?

NoBetNoWin,

That's exactly what I was thinking...  Houston gave up 28 points last week, however Dan Orlovsky is NO Cammy Cam
AND they are already in the playoffs so I see them playing this one real cautiously to avoid any injuries to key players (Foster and even if Johnson can go they will probably keep him on the bench).  Indianapolis looked real solid defensively last week and it seems there is some pride still left on that side of the ball.

With that said, I got this game capped at 23 - 13 so........  let's put two units on Under the Total as well please.  Thanks!

IND +6 (.5u) - playing the "swagger" theory on this one, even tho I'm concerned with Wade Phillips back on the sidelines for Houston. SCORE: Texans 21-Colts 17.

Yeah - how'd that same scenario work out for Houston last week against the Panthers - AT HOME!?!?!

Houston hasn't beaten anybody by more that a TD since Schaub & Leinart went down - so, let's keep that trend going.

Houston wins? - yes, but covers a TD? - NO

my opinio is , orlovsky is an upgrade over painter, but not over yates, wade  must be embarrassed his  stud deffense unit got crushed by the  phenomenon , so he  will put things in to place this week , also, houston love nothing more than sweep the series against the colts, but  i dont see them riksing more than necessary , but i also see houston fighting for that 1st rd bye , having said this , the colts beleive it or not will be more relaxed now that they stick out a bit of that person they have up their fools , CJ.002 is being dreadful the whole year, the complete opposite of Arian foster, so the colts wont be able to contain easily Arian foster and Co, Colts running backs will have trouble running the ball , and orlovsky ont be able to beat that easily this Texans secondary as he did against the dead last NE pass D or the dreadfull Tenn deffense, my pt is, aside the ravens game all match  ups have been favorable for indy to cover, this game will be  very much like the baltimore game where indy just coudnt muster much offense, so --- as rubbish and as  rookie yates is , he has a better o line and a great russhing core , so

i like  a lot the under here and have a light lean on the -6 ---- but i dont see houston blowing out the manningless colts so teasing on a 10ptr  indy and the under might be a great play

Panthers away > Colts at home

Crackpot must win/should lose theory aside, Texans have one of the best (ranked) defenses in the AFC, it's more than enough to handle the impotent Colts offense.

I'm gonna say it's gonna be a repeat of last Thursday night with the 4th quarter being garbage time. But you know... Anything can happen in the NFL. Look at Tebow and the Chiefs, no f'ing locks.

Also congrats to nylonfeetrocks for the creepiest user handle and avatar I've ever seen. Just because you already use the username on some kinky forum doesn't mean you have to use the same handle on a sports forum :-D

It's a proven fact that no team "busts a gut" to get better positioning for the playoffs. It's also a fact, that after considerable grief to finally win a game all season, that no team is going to throw in the towel, for any draft picks. The Colts will certainly find more than enough in the draft, to get a decent selection. I'm sure the Colts would like nothing better than to screw up Houston playoff possibilites by avenging week # 1's 34-7 beating at Reliant Stadium. It's been a long season for the Manningless Colts. I lave every confidence, they'll cover another. Who knows- maybe another win is in the offing?

What a difference a week makes.  Indy last 8 games before their win...lost by 10, 55, 17, 24, 14, 8, 7, and 14.  And in those 8 games prior to last week they scored 10 or less 5 times....only breaking 20 once.  They play the number two scoring defense in the NFL this week.  Same defense that just got whipped and looked bad.  Let's throw on top Indy has the 30th scoring defense in the league.

As long as Houston has anything to play for they smoke this team.  Same way they smoked them by 27 in the first matchup...without Arian Foster.  This Colts team has been a nightmare for the Texans since their start.  Indy had won 7 of last 8 meetings going into this year.  Indy's sucking now makes them no less of a rival due to their past.  Texans defense unloads, and even if Foster is yanked halfway, Tate will continue the pounding.  Just as he did for 116 yards the first time they met.

The NFL is the biggest knee-jerk league around, it's funny watching so many take the bait week after week..  Now all of the sudden people are taking the Colts serious and thinking the far superior Texans will lay down while still in a seeding fight?  Come on, Man.  This is their main rival and they SUCK.  You're getting a gift here, don't overthink it.  Defense, Defense, Defense + very shitty offense = beatdown.

Any team  that    loses to the Steelers (by 3) at home, and can also manage to hang with the Pats (in Foxboro)- losing only by 7, shows me they're capable of competing. I assume the Texans' "D" took off last week, after losing by 15 pts at home. But then it was against Carolina, whom only 3 weeks earlier beat the Colts by only 8 (27-19).  Still convinced the Colts don't have a chance?

INDIANAPOLIS    + 6 (Prime Play!)

All these posts the night before the game. No one seems to care about this game.

I am leaning towards Texans minus the points and the under.

It's football on Thursday, and that is a good thing.

hmmm, 83% bets are on Houston,,,that's not too many taking the Colts seriously.  The Colts have covered 3 straight and Houston has clinched and may want to start resting/healing starters.  and speaking of motivations, if the Texans beat the Colts, that'll get Mr. Luck a greater chance of joining their arch rivals....soooo do we lay down or beat em up so we can assure the next phenom will be opposing us.... i'm not saying, i'm just sayin...
