#5 Posted: 12/14/2011 10:15:14 PM Will take a 2u bet on Niners at -1.5 - 2.5 whenever the line is available just in case big Ben is out . Even with big Ben playing, niners still can defeat the Steelers with some adjustments. But if Ben is out, Niners takes the game for sure. Did you watch freaking Batch play in the previous game?? Why the hell are they keeping him around! Pickup any guy on the street and the guy would play better. |

#6 Posted: 12/16/2011 10:50:49 PM IF big ben is playing they can exploit the 49ers thru the air. Warning warning danger will robinson. This could go either way so of course I wont bet it. |

Jim
Harbaugh is a FANTASTIC coach; in fact, if he was the coach of the Ravens
instead of his raggedy behind brother, that franchise would have at least two more Super Bowl rings. I'm sure Jim takes responsibility for not having his
boys properly motivated with that loss last week to the Cardinals and I am 100%
positive he will have his squad lathered up to play on MNF. Couple that
with a gimpy BIG Ben/Charlie Batch and I think we got a winner winner chicken
dinner.
With that said, put me down for San Francisco minus the small chalk at
the house please. Thanks!

#12 Posted: 12/18/2011 11:44:21 PM O.K. - riddle me this:
Roethlisberger in "limited practice" after having his leg put on backwards last Thursday night.
Woodley & Polamalu with bad hammies.....
Pouncey's out
Harrison's suspended
The game is in San Francisco
yet the line still sits at just -3??
49ers are in, but so are the Steelers - and I guess both teams are still fighting for that first round bye. I think everybody's waiting to see if Roethlisberger starts, and then the line's going to move like crazy - but even if he did start, there's no way he can limp around on this 49ers "D" like he did against the BrownEyes - and that means Charlie Batch - so you can draw your own conclusion at that.........
But, anyways - having said that, wouldn't it be in Pittsburgh's best interest to heal Big Ben up and save him for the playoffs? Yes, they can possibly still go for that first round bye, but why push it at this point. And I don't think Tomlin will - especially since he's talking how to handle the 49ers defense and not about Pittsburgh's offensive game........
http://www.faniq.com/blog/Coach-Tomlin-talks-defense-before-Steelers-meet-the-49ers-Blog-43082
not a good sign...........
So, I'm getting in early, and doing this - - pays +127
Good Luck Everybody!!

#13 Posted: 12/19/2011 6:51:15 AM According to ESPN, Tomlin is "optimistic" that Ben will play. Says the ankle is improving. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/7367957/mike-tomlin-pittsburgh-steelers-optimistic-ben-roethlisberger-play-monday
Ben's tough and I am sure they realize they need to take advantage of the Bal loss last night. If they want the division they need to go out and get it now. This will be a classic slugfest.
Pit +3.

#14 Posted: 12/19/2011 9:19:28 AM Baltimore losing last night really puts this game's importance back on the shelf.
I'm not sure how to react to this game/line/total now. If the Steelers come out firing for 1st place, this game will go over. If not, this game turns into an under and probably a 49'ers win/cover. |

#15 Posted: 12/19/2011 10:22:15 AM I think the news of Ben playing tells me the story... they are playing to win tonight.

#16 Posted: 12/19/2011 11:05:52 AM Seeing that their next two opponents are StL @ home and finish @ Cle, they can basically put a strangle hold on the division by winning tonight.. This is the game that should determine where they play football in January. Tomlin knows it, Ben knows it.
Pit +3
should be one of the better MNF games of the year!!

#17 Posted: 12/19/2011 11:11:59 AM Pittsburgh has won its last six appearances on Monday Night Football.
............But................
San Francisco is 8-0 against the spread in its last eight as a home favorite.
Can we all agree this should finally be a good Monday Night game???

#18 Posted: 12/19/2011 11:12:47 AM Damn this game is nightmarish. Pitt injuries are a mash unit. Pitt has to win to try and secure bye. The two losses to ravens hurt em, Sfran has two road games after to keep up with new orl for other 1st round bye. Line is right with all of these factors. The last monday nite game is usually boring scorewise. Ben Roethlisberger is 15-9 ATS as an underdog. Sfran hasnt really beaten anybody. Pitt has a few more quality wins. Still it will close either way unless charlie gets in there.
Pitt and und for the medium! |

#20 Posted: 12/19/2011 11:51:32 AM In light of the Raven loss, this game takes on major importance for the Steelers. Although, the Ravens hold a tie-breaker over Pittsburgh, a win here coupled with playing 2 patsies in the next 2 weeks, will win the divisional title, a home game, and a first round bye. Based on who's coaching the 49 ers, I don't suspect they'll be taking this contest lightly either. Especially, with the team being showcased on national TV, and this being their final home game. With Ben hobbling, and Smith being of the pedestrian variety QB, at best, I'm seeing this as a game dictated by both defenses. I see this as a close contest, and am liking the Steelers to prevail SU. However, I appreciate getting the points. Also because of the reasons I've mentioned, I feel this game will definetely go Under.
PITTSBURGH + 3

#25 Posted: 12/19/2011 2:17:15 PM Being a Pitts burgher myself, this is tough. Big Ben is probable as is (LB) Woodley(hamstring) & (S)Palamalu(hammy too). But they are still beat up. With (C)Pouncey doubtful & (WR) Sanders as well, plus the East Coast travel to the West Coast makes this a no play for me. Pitt can get a 1 game lead over Balt.(thx for the +5 units SD as I played'em every way) with a victory which means their all in this one. So buyer beware. This is SF's first real test against a serious contender. BOL fellas. |
