The Buzz from the AFC West was that Oakland and KC were supposed to be much better this season while SD was maybe gonna take a slight slide back.

Well, so much for Da Raaaaaaaiders. Makes me wonder what KC will do in this MNF game. All I can say is that KC plays much tougher at home(as do most all the NFL teams) so I don't really expect a blowout by SD.

Although caution is telling me to be careful, I just can't see myself backing KC vs the defending division champs in the AFC West. Can KC win this? Sure, but I don't think they will. I'm expecting a game that will be closer than the final score will indicates with a 4th quarter SD touchdown to seal the win and cover before KC makes it an 8 point finish.

My guesstimate = Chargers-24 Chiefs-16

Anyone knows if the correlation between Charlie Waist and the QB Cassel being former Patriots would speed up the "new offensive coach" slow start theory?

With more injuries to KC vs a healthier SD, and it Being Monday night under the lights football, I gotta love SD to win and cover EASILY the 4.5 or 5. I believe this line should be 10. This is Going to be like the Tenn/Oak game or the Pats/Bungles game. 10-14 points when all is said and done.

For what it's worth, last year SD opened up week 1 on a Monday Night against Oakland in Oakland and the Score was 24-20 SD.

The last time these 2 played waas on 11/29/09 43-14 SD

CHARGERS take CHARGE in KC under the Monday Night Lights.

SD 31
KC 20

The Chargers should have a good chance of getting off to a fast start against a Chiefs team they outscored 80-21 in winning both meetings last season.

Sorry you can't see it, but the Comuputer obviously picked SD minus the points and the Over. This is NOT what I based my pick on. Just thought i would share this for what it ios worth.

THE TOTAL FOR THIS GAME IS BASED SIMPLY OFF OFLAST YEARS STATS. LAST YEAR BOTH TEAMS GAVE UP AN AVERAGE OF 16 PTS PER GAME.  THE RAVENS SCORED 24.4 AND THE JETS SCORED 21.8

24.4+16/2= 20.2 BALIMORE

21.8+16/2= 18.9 JETS

GRAND TOTAL OF 39.1

I think we can excpect the same defensive performances from both teams if not slightly worse.  However I think both teams are improved offensively. I like Flacco as a quarterback and I like the fact we will probably see a lot of passing and dead clocks. Rice is a solid and versatile back, and Sanchez should be able to penetrate the Ravens secondary with a couple deep passes.

OVER 36.5

I like the Chargers here, but I am torn on the over/under. Am I missing anything with this KC offense? Are they going to be able to put up points?

Ill chime in on this game as well darn it.  All signs point to san diego kicking behind except for the x factors...Mathews and Charles.  KC seems prone to pounding the rock in this game, and charles is one of those guys that can have a big game any day of the week.  San Diego will prob try to run the ball as well with the rookie especially if they get an early lead.  The under looks like a good play to me.  Wouldnt be surprised if KC catches SD off-guard with a solid run game.

San Diego is a slow starter and the line sure seems too low but KC was horrible at home last year. Horrible in general. New coaches are in but they dont play in the games. Cassel living still from glory days in NEW ENG where he was coached by Josh McDaniel not weiss. Kc might not score 10 pts. Chargers run and throw all over this def. 38-17. SD and OV

Just like both games last year though not sure if they'll be quite as easy but 4 shouldn't be too much of a problem -- San Diego

I like KC in this one. Like the weapons on offense and new coordinators. KC is a b'otch to play at and the crowd will be drunk and crazy. Reminds me of when Buffalo had a Monday night game against the Cowboys (Everyone jumped on the boys and they almost lost straight up). Don't underestimate the home field advantage in this situation. KC will show up to play.

How could anyone say This is like last year? These teams have major changes from coaches to key position players. The world is on SD and the line dropped from 5' to 4. MNF packed house at home with a nice a ground game, new season, divisional match-up, revenge from 2 whoopens last year and oh yeah The Norv Turner Factor. I'll Take the 5(now4) and the home dog KC.......LIP

I'm staying away from this one. My gut says KC will cover with the points, but my minds keeps asking how. I may play the over if anything.
