Farve missed most of the training camp and preseason games. I think it's bad match up for farve here. NO D is alway play tough at home.  1 or 2 interception for farve. NO D will take him out by  the hafl.

NO -4  and Under 49  Cha Ching!!!!

Saints -4.5 @ home.

Lot of public heat on them, they'll deliver.  Go Saints!

Leaning on the over in this one. Just guessing but I have a feeling that there will be a lot of offensive scoring and some turnovers for scores.

It's the 1st NFL game of the season so I could be way off as well

UNDER is the play.  First game of the year, Vikings are probably going to play it safe with Favre and his bum ankle by having him hand off to Adrian Peterson effectively all day.  This will keep Brees off the field while that clock ticks away.  Also think we should see some highly energized and effective defense from the Vikings and Saints.  Game will probably be low scoring and close.  I think the saints lose by struggling to stop the run.

UNDER 48.5

MINN +4.5

Small play on Minn ML

Just a thought but if Peterson can hang onto the ball then i  believe the game goes under Saints should have the paasing game going with maybe a short drop off passes to Bush. with out his heisman trophy to hold him down he gets yards too and burn a lot of the clock out

Just my thoughts

Sharper being out is not something to easily overlook.  NO had 26 INTs in 2009...9 by Sharper.  That's losing over 1/3 of INTs from a year ago.  His replacement may be adequate, but you have to admit Sharper is/was a huge factor in the Saints Def being turnover happy.

Pick: NO -5

Why: This game is the replay of 2010 NFC finals, however it’s not the same game. I dont think the Vikings have all that momentum going on now, although Favre may play incredibly well for a 40 year old I really dont think that he will come up with last year’s numbers, which btw was his career year, also I don’t think AP is gonna put up AP numbers and if you add that to wide receivers surgery and migraines you can see why the Vikings dont look that good this season. On the other hand the Saints are Superbowl champions, they have pretty much the same crew around and they are ready to repeat (or at least try). I cant see the Saints losing here and I think they will make a statement at home opener.

BetUS. I love NFL Q Bets. They are so easy! Team totals, combine totals, etc. Every single NFL Team total O/U is ALWAYS 3.5 on BetUS.

STAT: OVER THE LAST 10 SEASONS THE RAINING SUPEBOWL CHAMPS HAVE WON THEIR OPENER HOME GAME. THAT'S 10-0.

AND KEEP IN MIND THAT THE VIKINGS HAVE QUITE A FEW INJURIES RIGHT NOW. I SAY THEY START SLOW IN N.O. WHICH IS A TOUGH STADIUM TO OPEN AT.

got the saints at -5.  i can see this game finishing close, and would've prefered to get the game at -4.  opening night, saints playing at home, its hard not to take them here.

i can also see AP running all over the saints D, but im not sold on favre getting enough reps with his receivers by not being in camp, and not taking a lot of snaps in the preseason.

GL to all the saints backers and thank god football is back!!!!

As for your critique, well, it is lacking.  Chester Taylor is gone, yes.  And in comes a stud from Stanford - Toby Gerhart!  Vikings missing #1 receiver, yes.  In comes Greg Camarillo from the Dolphins who didn't drop a pass all year and runs routes like a pro.

Last year the line opened at NO -4', moved down to -3' and then settled at -4.  Minny covered.  This year the line opened at NO -4, moved up to -4', sat for awhile and now is up to -6 in some places.  Still feel confident?  Oh and the total opened at 54 and is now 48'.

So, the same exact New Orleans team opened a half point less than last year against a perceived lesser Minny team.

This is what I do, I read lines, I handicap.

+6 Minny
Over 48'

Gl all,

Tex

Dude Greg Camarillo caught only 8 passes last year thats it. He is 28 years old and has caught only 113 passes is his entire year. We all know what sydney rice did last year his absence is real big hole and chester taylor will be missed.

Game is a tough call minny has no pass defence and yes I know they did hold up against the saints last year. Can they do it twice in a row maybe. There is easier money on other games that are a gift.
