NIU -3 for the extra large. Jordan Lynch will do his normal thing to MAC opponents which is dominate. The line is simply off. The game will be on a neutral sight indoors in Detroit so I expect a lot of points to be scored. NIU's top reciever is questionable but the offense runs through THE MAN. Lynch is either the person son of Ditka or Zeus. I expect a statue of him to be erected in Dekalb where worshippers of his greatness can pilgrimage to worship. We are not worthy.

I agree 100 percent with you..to me this line is way off too..No way B Freen in my opinion should by +3..I was thinking +10 or more..Lynch will dominate this B Green team & put on a show..getting N Ill into a BCS game..

Was at the Bowling Green/ Buffalo game this past Sat & Buffalo played like crap in the 2nd half...had Bowling Green shut down in the 1st half then had a few turnovers & the roof fell in 2nd half...neither team could pass the ball at all..was an ugly game for most part..I just don't see B Green D constantly keeping up with rush after rush of Jordan Lynch...I think he'll have this BG D gassed by the 2nd half & N ILL crusies to the Mac Championship

Although I'm sure most of you knew this, note that this game is not "at" Northern Illinois. Covers has that wrong, but they did correctly note the location (Detroit).
If this were really an NIU home game, the -3 line would be crazy. Personally, I like NIU -3 even at a neutral site. This line is pretty close to most power rankings, though.

BG defensive strength has been their pass D. Since the NILL passing only comes out to offset Lynch's tremendous running ability, this game will play out like the others we have seen.

OVER is the play here men………. NILL will be giving up lots of points to BG, probably in the 28-35 point range…. NILL will get their points too, about the same, maybe a bit more… I'm pounding the OVER and a small play on NILL. This is on the rug, indoors, a very fast track…Lynch loves artificial turf, makes quick cuts, will run for 250 yards!

Agree with everyone on the over but NIU passing defense has been awful this year. Luckily for NIU, they haven't faced a vertical passing game since EIU: a game that they almost lost. BGSU has the ability to stretch the field with several different receivers. I am always a fan of this NIU team, as they have won me good money over the years, but I would not be surprised to see BGSU make this the toughest test of the year for NIU, and maybe even win the game.

Line has moved to -3.5 NIU so I'm glad I got my bet in before it moved. An interesting resource for bettors is Sports Insights which claims to have the percentages of betters on each side of every game. The NIU Bowling Green game shows 85% of the betters on NIU. I must add that I am extremely skeptical of the information provided by Sports Insights is useful statistical information. It is not that I suspect this company of outright lying, what I am very suspicious of is that the books would assist in giving out information that would give gamblers any kind of an edge. The books will never ever divulge where the sharp money is going, what information they give to this company Sports Insights is just enough information to tease betters into thinking "aha! now I have an angle that can make me money so now I can bet!" I see lots and lots of betters talking the Sports Insights lingo around here. Comments like "everyone is betting on NIU so I'm betting on Bowling Green" is what I mean. Now having said all that there are real sports insights at the company called Sports Insights. There is a 1 to 3 percent edge in betting the underdog and the under because the public shades betting the opposite way. But all this yammer "it's a trap!" or ignorant speculation on how Vegas is secretly manipulating behind the scenes to chisel you out of more money. It's silly, owning a book is like owning a flock of golden geese that plop out a 5% profit on every bet placed. They don't need traps within this trap, they are already making a fortune. If you were already a multi, multi millionaire would you risk it all by breaking the law? Just look at the teams playing, look at the spread, and place your bet.

Great post sir. Agree the conspiracy crap is BS, odds makers do just fine simply due to the vig and folks that bet with their hearts. I also don't think the number of bettors is the key, it is the amount bet on each side and you don't get that info.
Still, while NIU is the better side, this will be a wide-open game and both teams will put up gobs of points. I plan to bet NIU and the over. GL to all.

Great post sir! All the silliness about conspiracy and public betting numbers is goobeldy gock. Wise guys make plenty without fudging the game, plenty of foolish fans that bet with their hearts and the10% vig provides them plenty of cover. The key number isn't the number of bets anway, it is the dollars bet that moves the line. Majority of the public is stupid anyway, look at our elected government.
I think this game could be a nail biter despite the great history of Lynch at NIU. Safest bet for me now that the line has moved to 4 is to take Bowling Green +14 and play it on a large teaser. N Ill has been money for a long time but this game is a risky bet. Phil Steele has it as a one point game, so does his computer projection. GL to all.

Every one is suckin NIU's pen. Everyone has handed them a BCS spot already. They start off terribly in games. Their defense I suspect. Their best receiver by far is injured.
Bowling Green has a great defense and has been destroying teams down the stretch. Including a tough victory on the road against Buffalo. They are being completely disrespected. They score 35 a game. I see them jumping out early and stuffing Jordan lynch. They will beat NIU in convincing fashion.

Simply amazing. I wonder how many times you've signed on with a different alias name and e-mail address. Not really sure if you're allowed to post anymore or the Mods will bar you off again.
This will be NIU's biggest test of the year. Lynch is a beast. But the line is right on. I'll pass this game and hope NIU wins the marbles.

hey guys I love the chatter, as we know public perception is lopsided here, most of the public will be on NIU and most of the public know nothing about BG so if anything wouldn't the opening line reflect that to inspire action towards BG? I hear people saying this line which is now -4 for me is out of whack in NIUs favor...this wouldn't make sense based on how vegas works, this is a common situation in a small conference champ game, rarely is the public familiar with both small programs. I think this line is about right because BG can score & can stop the run, they are missing their leading tackler & stud linebacker. I love lynch but he can be held in check like he was vs akron. I feel pretty good about the modest over here, this will be a close game, don't feed into the NIU hype their D is marginal at best & lynch is awesome but really overrated especially this time of year, they have no impressive wins vs solid balanced opponents

Lynch is talented but dump. did you all see the coach's reaction when he ran in for a td and brought the game to OT last week??? I am sure that he had told not to. Alex Smith did the same thing in the Gaints playoff a couple of yrs ago.... that's probably one of the reason why he got traded..... base on the situation of lynch vs BG defense, and a 3pt-and-hook to me is a curse. BG + over.

if I am not wrong... BG's D allowed only 2 drives to reach inside their 20 in the last 4-5 games. BG held Buffalo to 15 yds rush and Eastern Michigan to 4 yds pass a week before...... just some recent stats for everyone. if BG loses, then it is over game.
