People are right, a lot has changed in 3 months, mainly ISU is way better because Jantz is not playing.
You are right. I have no idea what I'm talking about. I missed this part of the quote in my newletter about their new QB Sam Richardson. I'll try to copy and paste the quote here:
"Hoping to change that will be Iowa State RS frosh QB Sam Richardson, who emerged in the last two games with 4 TDs off the bench in Game 11 and then another 3 TDs as a starter in the finale. But those contests were against the worn down defenses of Kansas and West Virginia.
Still, Richardson demonstrated an upside that HC Paul Rhoads is eager to explore. The Cyclones have plenty of quality targets, led by sr. Josh Lenz, who had 29 recs. and 6 TDC (plus 1 TD pass) in an injury-interrupted campaign.
However, a lot is being asked of young Richardson, as the ISU ground game was marginal to begin with, and now will be without top rusher Shontrelle Johnson (504 YR; ACL in practice), while virtual costarter James White (469 YR) has missed some practice time due to a head injury.
The bend-but-don’t-break defense lost stalwart all-Big 12 LB Jake Knott in November. With Knott in action, ISU gave up 135 ypg on the ground. In the four games without him, 225 ypg. That stat will interest the revenge-minded Hurricane and its robust ground game."
Yes, I was 100% wrong on the QB, but sounds like Richardson is no hugh threat. I'll stick to my guns with Tulsa, even if they get Tom Brady as QB!
