#2 Posted: 8/19/2012 12:55:07 AM Neither team will be able to climb ot of the cellars in their respective divisions. Minnesota will be better in their second year under their new coaching staff. UNLV has things going in the right direction, but the actual progress might only be 4 or 5 wins.In this spot, I like the generous points.

#3 Posted: 8/19/2012 2:34:03 PM Basically this one comes down to the UNLV RB vs. Minn QB. Both defenses will let in a bunch of points. I typically like to take teams visiting Vegas that are not used to the atmosphere... nor the heat. I'll take the home dog with more than a TD... UNLV +8 |

#6 Posted: 8/22/2012 10:06:30 PM hmm, only thing I see is they announced the starting QB... redshirt freshman Nick Sherry over junior Caleb Herring. Guess I'll double up with the extra points. |

#9 Posted: 8/27/2012 10:01:50 PM I wanna know what the total is cuz this game is gonna be a shootout!!!! Both teams are gonna struggle this year, but I will take my chances with the home dog getting more then a TD.

#12 Posted: 8/30/2012 2:04:45 PM UNLV is 0-4 last 4 games ATS. Minnesota is a good road team. The Gophers cover. |

#14 Posted: 8/30/2012 4:34:54 PM Both these colleges are coming off sad 2011 seasons. Minnesota could use Eric Decker back and UNLV starting a true freshman could be scary. Huge upside for Minnesota is there easy first half schedule. They could get 5 wins under their belt and this could be the positive reinforcement and confidence booster they need to even compete in the BIG 10. Marquies Gray is in final season and although his legs are a threat we haven’t seen anything that shows his arm is. Minnesota defense has shined a few times last year but calling them inconsistent is quite generous compared to other words I could’ve used.
UNLV on the other hand went 2-10 in the Mountain West Division. Possibly the worst in college football and that trend should continue this season. There players are probably hanging out at the Las Vegas Strip more then they should be. With that being said they will field a better team then last year and at times their offense will look pretty good. Ultimately both these teams are going to have long and somewhat painful seasons ahead of them. You have to take a Minnesota team who has the veteran QB and the defense that can sometimes play with its own division. Points should be put up quickly with these mediocre defenses. Over 51.5 is the play but if I had to choose it be Minnesota.
Minnesota 34 UNLV 21. |

#17 Posted: 8/30/2012 8:52:30 PM Every time I bet against UNLV I lose, so no Bet, But as far as weather being a factor, we went from 110 degree days to 105 degree days, and now at 5:51 this Valley is covered in clouds with a pretty good breeze.Awful heat should not be much of a factor.

#18 Posted: 8/30/2012 9:28:59 PM These are two teams with no where to go but up. Defense for Minny is vastly improved and the Oline has started a total of about 30 games between the 5 starters. I don't remember the last time the Gophers won by 11 on the road. Under 53 UNLV +10. |
