#3 Posted: 10/11/2011 3:40:21 AM far better talent at USC. tougher faster defense than cal. better qb better recievers, a whole lot more options on rb and good ones too. USC covers here. |

#7 Posted: 10/11/2011 12:28:34 PM This isn't even much of a home game for the Bears..Having already played one home game in Candlestick, now they play USC who's coming off a bye in front of a maximum 44k people at AT&T? I'll take the better team (Trojans) laying the small number on an almost neutral field |

#8 Posted: 10/11/2011 1:13:10 PM I took the Ducks last week in the first half and loss Looking at Cal's games they seem to start off quick in the first half of their games and die down in the 3rd and 4th qtr I might just try Cal in the first half in this one. |

USC has won 7 in a row including the past two years being blowouts so i don't know what cal being at their home away from home has anything to do with it. Cal just came off a BLOWOUT by Oregon while USC is coming off a win over Arizona AND a bye. If your QB can play even mediocrely compared to how he played last week he might pose a threat to USC's D who has hopefully used their Bye week successfully. The only way i see CAL winning is if USC just completely overlooks them and starts getting ready for ND.

#10 Posted: 10/11/2011 2:02:39 PM Don't mess with the reverse line movement. This line should be at 4.5 and instead dropped to 3.
I think I'll take my chances and follow smart money.

#11 Posted: 10/11/2011 7:43:12 PM Actually Jango.. I haven't really seen any line movement.. Some books open up at -3 and some at -4. Mines just raise from -3 to -3.5..
USC -3 is a gift |

#16 Posted: 10/12/2011 10:32:52 AM USC returning 14 players this year (7 Off, 7 Def)
CAL returning 12 players this year (7 Off, 5 Def)
Cal's qb Maynard is a transfer from UB and is playing his 6th game with the team. I dont think he's used to playing in big games in a much better conference. Once Oregon got up a couple scores he started forcing throws and it almost looked like he got rattled. USC's biggest weakness is defense so he might be able to exploit it if CAL's defense doesnt give up a big lead early. USC lost two key recievers from last year in Johnson and Ausberry but this year they have Woods and Lee so its not much of a loss for them. CAL lost a DE a few LB's and 2 CB's so look for the accurate Matt Barkley to find holes in the middle and hit his new good looking recievers. CAL puts up a fight but USC eventually pulls away in the 2nd half.

Well it has a lot to do with it..This isn't a true home game for the Bears..It will be played in front of 44,000 people max and if it's anything like previous Emerald Bowls, then they will be sharing a sideline. I don't think Cal is getting the traditional field goal for home field advantage and the line shows that.. |

#20 Posted: 10/12/2011 2:23:05 PM USC -3.......................cal did not impress me at all against oregon. Quarterback play is suspect. The thing thats worries me is kiffin being an arrogant idiot that he can be. |

#22 Posted: 10/12/2011 3:56:45 PM I like Cal coming off 2 road losses and "only" being a 2' to 3 point dog. Everyone says gift, but I say trap. Every stat supposedly points to USC except the low opening point spread, which is what I look at.

#23 Posted: 10/12/2011 8:19:44 PM I feel that CAL should have been closer against OREGON. Call me crazy but i think Cal wins straight up!!! There's just something about this spread. Shouldn't USC be favored by 10? HMMMM
