Newman and Stewart also love that track.  Could have some value as well as guys to look for in matchups.

Newman last 9 races at Phoenix....1 win......4 top 5's....4 top 10's

Average finish 16.3......Finished 21st here earlier this year

Smoke last 9 Races at Phoenix....0 wins....2 top 5's......3 top 10's

Average finish 15.1.......Finished 22nd here ealier this year.

Just curious what makes you say that they both run well here? Certainly not horrible but alot better choices IMO.

Sorry...should've been a little more specific.

When I say value, I mean value based on who they are paired up with in matchups, and what their odds are to win.  Newman and Stewart have as much talent as anyone on 1 mile tracks, but they don't always have the setups on the cars.  Look at the practice times, and if they look dialed in you might get a matchup like

Newman-Menard or
Newman-Logano

Stewart-Kenseth or
Stewart-Edwards

If those matchups pop up, and the Steward-Haas team looks solid...could be value.

Also, odds to win could be 15-1 or 20-1...again, if the practice times look competitive, they both have the talent to win.

Not saying they absolutely will do good...just saying if they have the setups, they can easily both be in the top 5 at this track.

I'll be waiting til after practice sessions to see if I want to fade or support Newman and Stewart.  I will say Kahne -125 over Newman in qualifying is tempting.

He has been running really well all chase long....Probably the best of his career....Still waiting to see if he will take Newman out as promised...For this reason a little hesitant to take him...

Stewart qualified good...said they found a really good setup with the front end.  I'll be keeping an eye on his practice times...could be a good week for him.

according to my records, there have been 4 times a driver has wept the practice sessions: biffle, hamlin, keslowski last week, and now kyle busch...in the first 3 instances, each driver finished second.....I would take kyle busch over any matchup other than jimmy johnson or brad keslowski for the phoenix sprint cup race
