5 out of 6 paid $6,378 each and I had it 4 times for $25,512.
I should be happy but I should've had the Pick 6 which would have paid me $387,000.

#58 Posted: 11/2/2012 8:10:01 PM My 1st choice won two of the 6 races and my 2nd choice won 3 of 6 races. Tomorrow I'll be lucky to have any choice win a race.

#59 Posted: 11/2/2012 8:40:25 PM Good calls with Flotilla, HighTail and Zagora. Never thought Zagora would get distance. She is a monster on bone dry turf course. Good luck tomorrow. Mott will win te Classic with 1 of 2 entries. |

#61 Posted: 11/2/2012 8:46:42 PM Thanks guys. There were 26 consolation 5 of 6 tickets and I was fortunate and had 4 of them. I was real close to using the #6 in leg 2 in my secondary ticket because I loved his Tomlinson rating and the fact that he was used to going the distance with even higher weights. Had I thrown him in instead of the #2, it would've been $387,000. Oh well...if the queen had balls, she'd be the king!

The probability of me scoring out two days in a row is tough but I will do my best.

#68 Posted: 11/3/2012 12:27:35 AM BREEDERS CUP CLASSIC
Early thoughts:
#2 FLAT OUT has the best sheet numbers and is on top of his game right now. Was favored in this event last year and didn't get the best ride. I'm a big Joel Rosario fan. #11 MUCHO MACHO MAN seems to be getting better with age, Well rested and is peeking now. Has become more of a stalker than a dead closer which has improved his game. Solid sheet numbers. #5 GAME ON DUDE is 5 for 5 at Santa Anita and has fired 7 straight top efforts in a row. Solid sheet numbers. Finished 2nd in last year's Classic on the engine and Bejarano has replaced Chantal Sutherland.

#73 Posted: 11/3/2012 5:50:23 AM Nice going GH! THanks for answering the cost question. Wondered about that. I never play jackpot pools as we call it here as I don't generally bet in every single race.
Cyph718, To call Zagora a monster is grossly exaggerating as I think if you run the same race again with the draws in reverse you'd see a different result as the rides Ridaisiyna and The Fugue got were nothing short of disgraceful. It was the same thing in Canada and unfortunately the norm in US racing: the best horse does not always win. The problem in the Canadian International last month was the slow early pace that saw them go 49 seconds in the first 4F which only resulted in a bunched cluster of horses around the turn into the straight. The same thing happened here and The Fugue really should've won given her favourable draw and had Buick not gone for the rails. Ridaisiyna was the main bet of the night and was never in the race coming into the home straight LAST!!! I knew early on in the race when Lemaire was seemingly content to hold her up in last it's game over for her.
Then suddenly the jockey woke up and got going far too late. Was seething at that brainless ride. When will jockeys realise when the early pace is slow, the place to be is NOT held up in rear??? Ridaisiyna had no stamina worries and Lemaire really should;ve expended some energy into scrimmaging for an early position. Amazing. Both races I bet in Canada, I had crap rides and here again. One of those rides in Canada was by Pat Smullen who rode the last race on the card on Speaking of Which only succumbing to Grandeur's amazing turn of foot. He obviously learnt his lesson riding a good race but find it galling these French jocks repeat their mistakes time and time again.

#74 Posted: 11/3/2012 6:08:37 AM I don't mind losing on merit but when jockeys do not give your horse the best ride it's tough to stomach. As for Zagora being a monster??? pmsl.. sorry.. Not even close. She won running to a mark of a maximum 116 in my view which is 8lb short of what is needed to win a Prix L'Opera. Watch the race again. Watch RIdaisiyna, The Fugue AND Im a Dreamer. Only perhaps the Fugue had a mini race but the other two barely broke sweat. Actually Buick was told by John Gosden NOT to take the rails. Oops! He's still a good jock and young but those bloody French jocks make my blood boil!
When a maiden and a 9 years old can win a race at a prestigious meeting, I gotta laugh at the "World Championship of Thoroughbred Racing".. lol. Where are the speedy Australians who has the best sprinters on the planet? Where are the Japanese who only send out Trailblazer who is definitely no Orfevre. Even the Germans who are growing as a real force in flat racing do not target the Breeders Cup. I do enjoy this meeting but the tight oval tracks are not conducive to finding out the very best horse. NExt year it's a level playing field with no Lasix. I know RIdaisiyna did not run on Lasix but I still felt she would've beaten all the doped up runners. It wasn't to be.

#75 Posted: 11/3/2012 6:10:49 AM Very tough card today. Think the quality is not quite there apart from
the Mile race. Locked in Trailblazer and George Vancouver a few
days ago. Got a huge British card to get stuck into before the Breeders
so back later and best of luck. |
