This is a little different from a pool, which is questionable as to its allowance on this site.
I want to be clear that if you guys do this, covers has absolutely no responsibility in this as far as people paying or getting paid. Covers will not provide personal information in the event there is any question/conflict/issues that arise between members.
I'm sorry if that puts a damper on this. I realize that the show Luck has made the group pick 4/5/6 groupings popular again.
Also, there will be no disclosing of any information like paypal addresses, etc. on this thread.

Sorry fellas. Just making sure you understand.
Thanks for the info. Handikapper1 seems like a straight up guy.

dont understand the confusion-anyways just a thought
so that we could possibly all share a possible huge hit'
But there are ways of slanting the odds in your favor and spreading the risk. Many bettors form small syndicates of their own with other handicappers and bettors in the same financial bracket. For example, eight bettors with $100 each, or five bettors with $200 each, can bet a decent Derby ticket with a chance at the big prize, and a very good chance of getting Tri/Superfecta winners.
Besides the advantage of a lower financial risk when pooling your money together with other handicappers, you can also benefit from their insights into each race. One bettor may be an expert trip handicapper. Another may be an expert on speed races. It is extremely difficult to select winners in a row on your own. A few insights from sharp partners can reduce the stress and uncover winners you might otherwise have missed.
A few of the bettors in the group should be seasoned handicappers who also know how to effectively structure multiple race tickets, and one or two bettors in the group should be trusted to make the final decisions on the tickets to be played. -forum thread

Seeing as how I cant see more then 6-7 people going in this, based on some people having trust issues, what would the play be with 400 ish in the pot. Id say handicap like you say 4 horses that you feel have the best chance to win, then bet a triactor, pick 3, pick 4 and superfecta off those horses? a benefit of playing in the states is you will have the option of 50 cent tris and p3s and p4s which we dont have in Canada which is better if you want to go deeper in the 3rd/4th legs of the tri/super.

Handikapper: it is nothing personal. We've had previous incidents involving problems when people exchanged money. They then turn to covers for assistance. I just want everyone to know that we have no role in this no matter what happens.

Hey Kap I would be in. Pending the issues being resolved and enough people being on board. (I'm not worried about getting paid, I trust you handling things.) I am pretty bad at structuring vertical exotics but I read a lot of horse racing literature and am pretty good at analyzing race shape and handicapping winners. Also, who is going to place the bet and what increment's they place have got to be very clear. The only potential conflict I see is the guy placing the bet being hit with a huge tax bill. (Even though in the obvious case of a signer they would take 25% off the top in person.) I would not want the bet placed online for that reason

Count me in on whatever it takes to have a legit shot . These pools get huge and payouts are a dream day . I've hit a few in the past , but the ones I lost were because I had to throw out a couple of horses . I also do a box which is expensive , so I would love for you to place the bet . I just don't want to be short . I'll be at Oaklawn in hot springs trying my own ticket as well . Just let me know what we need to do .
