Fast forward a couple weeks later. Dallas has a series lead of 3-2. Miami has home court advantage. Dallas needs to win one more game in Miami in order to become champion. Everything is right on schedule.
Has my opinion on the outcome of this series changed? No.
Miami will become World Champion on Tuesday. That’s no disrespect to Dallas. If I didn’t respect Dallas, I wouldn’t have hedged out of my Miami In-Season Futures by taking Dallas To Win The Championship prior to Game 1.
Why am I still confident in Miami? LeBron James.
You’re probably getting ready to go on a LeBron James rant right now, and trust me, I did for at least an hour prior to writing this blog. His fourth quarter performances thus far have been inexcusable.
Whether you like him or not, he’s still LeBron James. He’s held at such a high standard that even a triple double is a bashing point for his critics. When’s the last time you saw an individual hit a triple double and still get crushed by the media?
It’s LeBron James time. With a King’s performance in Game 6 and Game 7, the history of this series will be rewritten in a way that acknowledges LBJ as the best player in the game today rather than the choke artist he’s being portrayed as by the national media. Somehow, the media seems to have forgotten his heroics in closing out Round 2 and Round 3, yeah?
LeBron James is the most criticized player of my generation, but don’t lose money over your hate for him like you did while backing Boston and/or Chicago.

Makes no sense though. The Heat have been the favorite or close to the favorite to win the title all year. The Mavs only opened at +160 to win the series. Hedging wouldnt even net a full unit gain for every unit bet |

I won't weasel (correct spelling) out of anything like the Chicago Bulls backers from my "Miami over Chicago" threads that so bravely stated they'd return to the threads after the series ended, proclaiming me an "idiot" and what not in Miami after they were blown out in Game 1 of that series:
