I've recently created a new College Basketball system and have been tracking it for a few weeks now. Overall it is 85-70-4 which is profitable. If you play EVERY game that the system identifies (which I don't recommend) as a play at say, $100, you would be up $800, which I know is not a whole lot, but hey, profit is profit.
Some things I have noticed about the system in its short existence:
1) It seems to really like heavy favorites. Not saying this is a good or bad thing, but a lot of high ranked teams with lines in -15 or more range seemed to get identified as plays more so than those with smaller lines out there.
2) The system will underestimate a team if they have had players return from injury that vastly improve said team. I use numbers from the ENTIRE season so naturally, a team like Central Michigan that really struggled until Chris Fowler came back seems to be a regular "fade", this just proves one of the flaws of the system. (This is where you need to do your own research)
3) The system seems to do better on less busy betting days. On days where 12 or less picks are identified, the system is (36-17). On days with 13 or more picks (Saturdays and a few others), the system is (49-53-4). Not sure of this trend will continue, but definitely something to keep your eye on.
What does all this mean? It means this is a very raw system, but one that can definitely be beneficial to us. My advice to those who follow, look at ALL the plays identified, from there (especially on bigger days), do your own handicapping and research to see what games you like or stick out to you. You can bet more or less units on those you are more or less confident in, and lay off certain games that you think might be poor plays based on injuries or other factors as stated above.
Can you blindly follow this system? So far, yes, I guess, since it is profitable overall, but I think the real money can be made by using this as your basis for handicapping at the start of your day. From there you use the picks to choose which ones you thing are solid plays and really hammer them.
Anyways, I'm rambling, I'll post the plays for today shortly. Lots of favorites today (which I don't like). Best of luck to all no matter where your money lies. Here's to degeneracy at its finest
