Are you saying they need him to beat Mercer or Lehigh?
There are more important sometimes for athletes than just money....like winning...
If Parker stays, Duke also has 3 of the top 10 recruits coming in next year...pretty much assuring them the #1 team going into next year...
If you ever hear Lebron and Kobe talk, they always say they wished they had played in a NCAA tourney and win it all...
Maybe thats what this kid is doing...
Staying another year at Duke and learning is never a bad idea...

Try this:
Make a list of players in the NBA now, or former players who left after their Freshman year of college and became all-stars and champions....
Then, make a list of players who stayed until atleast their sophmore year....
Compare which list is 6x longer....you will then have your answer
And, injuries can happen anywhere, anyday.....make a list of players who never had a chance to play in the NBA cause they stayed an extra year...

Yes, that is exactly my point.
Who cares if he will be #1 or # 2??
I can name more #1 and #2 busts, than #1 or #2 superstars.
The purpose is to play in the league for 10+ years, and 99% of the time it is people who grew and got better in college first.
Funny all you do is keep insulting people who disagree with you....
Bigger question is why does this bother you so much??
Getting so angry about a kid staying in college only proves how pathetic your life and judgement is

He will be costing himself roughly five million next year by staying at Duke. The additional time spent learning from Coach K and refining his game will probably be worth an additional fifty to sixty million over his NBA lifetime. Being drafted this year by the Bucks or Hawks probably means he would end up more like Harrison Barnes and less like Kevin Durant.

Atleast some people have intelligence on this site...
Just because a freshman doesnt bolt after their first year, that doesnt mean they dont know what they are doing. He has the smartest and most respected college coach with NBA relationships giving him advice on what to do
