Good angle Jesron1269.

I agree that all chokes aren't cheats. That's why the question was posed. Maybe investigation will find similar situations over the course of the year/career, maybe it won't. Cheating happens (university of San Diego) and legitimate complaints of suspected cheated should be looked into. Turning a blind eye to sports is dangerous..Barry Bonds cheated Ryan Braun didn't.. just look into it and see what's comes of it.

I've moved on and have locked in my bets for today.

Yes, they were up 11 with 2:40 left, I felt secure.  But, not as secure I felt when they were up 7 with Reggie going to the line with under 130 left.  For him to miss 3 of 4 free throws and turn the ball over in his last game kinda blows my mind.  I don't ever think games are fixed, cause if you do this long enough, you know that &*^! happens, sometimes even your way.

I just had a hard time wrapping my head around what happened.

This was much worse than the Kentucky- Louisville, 6 points in the last 3 seconds for the backdoor.  I was on Kentucky, and it almost ruined my New Year.  Almost.

That Kentucky game was crazy, but that was pure luck by Louisville hitting some crazy 3's and then a turnover onKentucky that was clearly a foul on the Louisville player, but the ref didn't blow the whistle.

I don't care what anyone says....the play of that guy was very suspicious.

Showtime, can we place 100% of the blame in just Reggie Hamilton's last 2.5 minutes on offense? or 50% blame in Ham, 50% on D giving up 12 pts in 100% of SUU's 6 possessions?

Id put it at 30% Ham, 20% Coaching, and 50% Defense. the D is what allowed the scoring. Ham did have the ONE turnover on press-situation, but there were two different players on Oaky that fouled on D while they were leading. and 1 of the fouls was an And1 for a 3-pt play.

how can you even logically believe that? A guy in his final game of his career, trying to build a bigger rep, and scouts see that he really choked on a bigger stage.. trust me i think hes a little more upset than you are...

Washington vs UCLA this past Saturday had me thinking it.
Wash down 2 with 3 secs left.
I had Wash +5.5.
They lost by 6.
How?

stellar, 1st of all, it was Washington down by 2 with 2 FTs cued up for Cal because Wash had to foul to try and stay in the game. Cal hit the 2 FTs to go up by 4 with 3 seconds left. Wash immediately turned the ball over and had no chance but to foul again to prolong the game to have any shot at winning. Cal made both FTs to win the game by 6.

That's ridiculous to ever bring that game up when it was an end-of-game strategy to foul and hopefully stay in the game, PLUS it was 4 MADE FTs that made the cover for Cal. That's half-a** backwards and has no relevance here.

Sorry about your loss and point shaving in college hoop is more common than you think. Most these players knows that they will not be in the NBA making the big bucks, so when mobs approaches them with money to throw a game they will take that money for sure. Did you think that these players actually got an education to back them up?

This type of play happens a lot in the NBA, the refs will blew a whistle with one second left to send the game over or make a game cover. Its all up to the ref and the ref knows the line and do the refs know the mob? that for you to decide.

i beleive and firmly think...that anybody that doesnt beleive players shave points, coaches fix games, referees are corrupt , or games are rigged

IS A COMPLETE AND MONUMENTAL MORON

of course most games are fixed, a well oiled mob industry can easily buy players, referees, coaches, u name it ...is just plain stupid and dumb to beleive money doesnt move the world are guys so stupid or just plain dumb to beleive the universities or institutions arent corrupt at certain levels, do u guys think some schools just live out of charity, good will and sponsors----give me a freakin break .........

i do beleive oakland was shaving pts at the end...but they didnt intend to lose the game...unfortunately....they just miscalculated ....  Basket ball at any level is the most easy sport to for players to cheat and shave pts and...u guys know it how many times the outcome of a game surprisingly is just barely under or over the total or the spread ........ do i beleive the sports world is fixed

HELL YEAH

in soccer not so long ago 6 important teams of italian A series were downgraded to 2nd and 3rd Div because investigations just found out they were cheating,

just last season an investigation was started on the rainbows for cheating allegations

there is an ex nba referee out there that openly declared how games were fixed, rigged, etc

SO TAKE A HIKE if u dont beleive this monkeys doesnt shave pts or will throw away a championship game for some tens of thousands of dollars

EVERY BODY HAS A PRICE

disagree with basketball being the most easy to corrupt. try tennis, a 1-man sport. and you act like games are fixed more often than not. I agree it happens, its been documented. and if it does happen and it isn't caught, you'll never know. there is no way to cap that a game will be fixed, so why care. I think it's the GAMBLER in people that start the accusations of a fixed game more often than games Really Are.

Like I said, no doubt there are fixed games, but why accuse players of doing it just because you lost money on it. Try to tarnish a kid's or team's reputation through accusations based out of losing $ on a game...not my style.

Having worked out with Reggie and been around him a bit in the off-season and knowing the work ethic he put in at the gym, I'd say it's next to impossible that he'd throw his last game in college.

Simply came down to converting at the end and he didn't. Crazy garbage happens and that was the case last night.

Of course its possible. If you dont think it could have happened you are naive. An obscure late sunday college game with a 7 point spread......its the perfect set up.......

Just sayin.

Absolutely agree that it happens. ESPECIALLY as Train mentioned, the obscure late games. You have a better chance of nefarious deeds not happening in big televised matchups. Not saying it couldn't, but far less of a chance. Those are the brakes. It's the pitfalls of the "hobby" we have chosen.

Its funny you brought up Auburn University as they were cleared in any wrong doing with the Cam Newton situation.  Even if they did pay him or his DAD it was worth every cent and they were probably under payed.

most games are NOT fixed. not even close.

i agree with train. this is the perfect situation for shaving. seems like most people are at one end of the spectrum or at the other; they believe that there's a) absolutely no chance of shaving, or b) they think there's a big conspiracy against everything they bet, and a shaving happens all the time. it would be naive to think that there's no chance of shaving, but yeah, it's still very unlikely.

Listen, if gambling is not fixed. We are all millionaires. Just last night, the Denver Nuggets win at Spurs homecourt. They just played a while ago and Spurs beat the crap out of them, so explain this to me? My point is as cappers we try to figure out when they are going to fix it and try to take advantage on it.

What crack are you smoking?!?! We try to figure out when they are going to fix it and we try to take advantage of it?!?!  Wow, I thought ACCUSING a player of point-shaving just to try and point out a reason why a person lost money was going far, but really?!?!  Now people are CAPPING FIXING?!?!

Good Luck with that bud

Love the comment about shaving points in a church game. Great stuff. Yeah I had Oakland last night. I think it was rigged. Anything that involves, poor ones at that. rigged.
