Premier League: 2 days rest between matches makes todays matches dicey to wager on. for those taking any 'overs', the unders have been the "rule" over the past few seasons 7-3, 6-2. The holiday schedule these teams have tends to make mockery of any stats or trends. so tread lightly.
Sunderland/Liverpool Under 2.5 @+141 - kind of think this is a knee-jerk reaction to Sunderland getting throttled 4-1 on Saturday vs Burnley. Pools HUGE win vs ManCity to put a little distance between them isnt something they will want to give right back immediately. Home side has a LONG injury list for this match; they know their chances of winning are slim, but they arent going to give up 4 goals again either. 'Pool DOES have the quality to win this 4-0, 5-0; especially vs the 2nd worst defense in the league. but again, on two days rest after a big win vs a rival, and now on the road --- what for?
ManCity -2 @-118 - situational play. losing to 'Pool on Saturday, whilst 11th place Burnley won 4-1 over Sunderland; Burnley will be happy to come away with 3 out of 6 pts. which is good for a team whom has scored just 2 goals in their past 9 matches OTR. with Tott vs Chelsea playing tmrw, this is a great opp for City to gain pts. This has the makings of a big win. add to the fact that Burnley have conceded 2+ goals in 6 out of their past 8 road matches helps the cause.
League One: taking a shot at this ....
Bury +1/2 @+158, to win @+525 - Im seeing some -200's out there for the visitors to win. But in these lower divisions --- where benches arent that deep --- with just two days rest? This line is off. Yes, Sheffield is in first place. Yes, they have 9 wins in their last 10 league matches overall. But theyve conceded in 13 out of last 14 roadies. Bury is the only team to NOT draw at home (4-0-7, 17/20 goals) with just 1 loss of more than 2 goals; so they tend to play teams tight at home getting shutout just once in past 9. Return fixture back in November saw Sheffield win 1-0; however, Bury played the ENTIRE 2nd half with one man down, and actually, a 2nd player was sent off in the 84th minute --- Sheffield didnt score until 3 minutes into injury time. Prior to that match, Sheffield beat them just once in 4 matches. on two days rest, this is a nice live home dog here.
Conference South:
Poole Town -1.5 @+114 - got this from a buddy out there so, im tailing.. to put it bluntly, visitors in financial crisis with several players leaving the team during holidays. this coming from a squad whom already have one of the worst defenses conceding well over 2 per game, currently winless in past 6, and already lost at home to this same team 0-2 recently on 12/26.
