I don't remember betting on any friendly match in the last year. But I really think that there's some value in the match up between the last two world cup winners. Neither of these teams really care about the match today. The coaches and players don't get tired of telling it to the media. Still, I think there's one team that takes it a little more seriously - the Spanish team. Why?
After many years in which the Spanish team was known as the best team in the world, Germany took their world cup trophy away. And usually, antecessors don't really like their successors. There's always this little rivalry between the two. It's like the feeling that you have when you see the new guy of your ex girlfriend for the first time... --> Advantage Spain
Another point is that they will play in Vigo, Spain. The stadium will be filled and they expect their team to make a little statement against the world cup winner, even though it's only a friendly match. --> Advantage Spain
Both teams are far away from their best line up. Both teams will give players from their second unit a chance to make some advertisment for themselves. Germany will play with an entire new defense (Höwedes, Mustafi, Rüdiger, Durm). On the offense end, Germany doesn't impress me either. They only scored 4 goals against Gibraltar and I don't expect a lot of danger roday.
Don't get me wrong. I don't expect fireworks. I don't expect an extremely good performance by Spain. But I think they will have this little extra motivation at home against a German team that doesn't care at all. I think Spain takes a close 1-0 or 2-0 win.

@alex: There's not much left from the team that won the WC (2 players from the final's line up). The team today never played together and I can't see how the defense can keep a clean sheet against a Spanish team that really has some offensive qualities.

Dirk: I totally agree with you, sprinkled a bit on Spain myself. Really looking forward to this Bundesliga weekend, some decent betting opportunities with regard to Cologne or the derby.

Dirk, i always like these spots as well, if Spain scores early i can see them running up the score against that new-look backline you mentioned. Best of Luck to you as well

@Kaiser: I'm glad you agree about the German match. Really can't see them showing up at all. Bundesliga continues at the weekend and most of the players are already focused on the important matches for their clubs. And I'm also looking forward to it. I hate these pointless national team breaks, these weekends without BL really suck. For this weekend, I really like some match ups. I like Schalke at home (at these odds!) and Bremen in a fight against the heartless Hamburger. I think they will take at least a point back to Bremen, if not 3. I'm looking forward to hear your thoughts

With Schalke I don't know, Wolfsburg seems to be in better shape and the di Matteo effect, if there was any, seems gone already. But indeed the odds are tempting, still undecided on that one though.
With Bremen I absolutely agree, not because I'm a homer but because the odds are ridicilous. This game is gonna be brutal to watch, very physical and little football to be "played. Odds for the under and Bremen not to lose made me jump on them already. Especially the under at well above plus money is an absolute must, I'm sure they will rise so if you agree I would put them in early.
I also like Hoffenheim to cover the +2.5, consider the injuries Bayern is dealing with. Neuer possibly out, Lahm for sure, Hoffenheim's defense looked good this year and their offensive capabilities are obvious.
Cologne at home against Berlin is another good value bet I think. Berlin is horrible in away games and I see Cologne getting the job done.
In 2nd Bundesliga I love Heidenheim at home, how about you? Any plays I should consider?

At these odds, Schalke is an auto play for me. I know they are struggling but they still have a lot of quality and they always play much better at home. They won against Dortmund and they played 1-1 against Bayern. And now, they are underdog at home against Wolfsburg? Wolfsburg is good, no doubt. But Schalke can always beat Wolfsburg at home. I'm really surprised about the odds. Maybe book makers think this match will be played in Wolfsburg...I don't know. Really strange.
I agree with you about Bremen. Bremen plays with a lot of heart and passion right now, Hamburg usually doesn't. They are still a terrible team and I will put some money on Bremen+0.5. Not sure about the total though. Could be a 0-0 but if there's an early goal, it could be really wild as well.
Hoffenheim+2.5 looks good. But I don't like betting against Bayern at home. If they score early, it could be easily 3-0 at the end. I will probably stay away. Same with Cologne. The way they played lately, there's no doubt Cologne should win against Berlin. Berlin played terribly, even at home. But I don't know...maybe Berlin surprises us. They will focus on defense and counter attacks. Cologne doesn't play well against these kind of teams. They don't like a lot of ball possession. That's why the last at home against Freiburg two weeks ago. Cologne seems to be more dangerous on the road. Could be a 1-1 at the end. Same with Mainz/Freiburg. Looks like a draw to me.
Leverkusen could be worth a try. I think they will take the three points against Hannover. They are pissed off after the draw against Mainz and they will look for redemption. I think they win against a mediocre Hannover team. I will stay away from Gladbach and Dortmund this weekend. I expect both to win but I don't really like the odds.
In the 2nd league, I like Heidenheim, Bochum and Leipzig. But I'm usually not extremely good with second league. I'm not as fanatic as I'm with the first league.

That's the official line up for today. So there are 3 startes from the world cup final against Argentina.
The defense is almost completely new and doesn't come even close to the quality of the defense around Hummels and Boateng. Spain will get their chances and I'm quite confident that they will win the game. Good luck
