Hi all, Thing about covers is there's your fair share of smart people as well as sick people in here :-( , so I figured Id ask a heart health question: Had a stress test recently and Dr said result is fine., (I went 50% longer than average before tech stopped the test when pulse climbed to 181). Anyway, in report, interpreting Dr said there were very rare PVC's (premature ventricular contractions). My primary kind of poo pood it and said if you hook someone up to stress ekg for a while you'll see lots of things from lots of normal people. Still I look at the web and it creates a mixed picture?? for PVCS. . I originally complained to dr I sometimes get short of breath after cardio after 25 minUtes or so where I used to nearly never get short of breath and go super high intensity. My blood pressure is normal as well, (it goes up in Dr's a bit because of white coat syndrome I have but is normal at home). The other thing is I have persistent Acid reflux now that I take medium for, (having an endoscopy in 2 weeks). . I read somewhere that acid reflux might contribute toward PVC's? Anyway, do I have reason for concern? Should I request to see a cardiologist for more workup, ect? Thanks in advance for any and all feedback ??

Way too many other things to know before somebody can give an intelligent response. Start with your age and weight.
Is this your first endoscopy? It's a piece of cake. You wake up feeling like $1m dollars and it seems like only a minute passed. And now you'll know how Michael Jackson got hooked on that shiit.
Acid reflux is no big deal when treated early. Nexium. It's when people let it go for years that they develop problems.

Nexium is a crock of shiat. I was on that for years. I really think the stress combined with a poor diet/lack of exercise can be the root of all of this. I had acid refulx so bad I thought i was going to faint many times. Used nexium as a crutch. (zantac over the counter is pretty much same thing no joke). Nexium screws with your digestive system. Doesn't break down everything efficiently as it should and can lead to weight gain and other issues in the long term. Change your life style. eat right, exercise, and try and mellow out. I'd sooner reccomend you get a klonopen scrip than nexium. I went thru the whole endoscopy/ witch hunt routine. Docs can prescribe u temporary crutches until the wheels fall off or you can make some life changes and nip this issue in the butt

gambling is a stressful hobby, especially when you're in the red. Watching the see saw tilt back and forth all game is torture if you have a big wager. Maybe take a break from gambling if that is a big part of your life and see if that helps with the stress.. good luck
I went thru a similar thing few years ago. Even went to a parasite doctor who shoved a finger up my a hole to check for some type of parasite that may be causing my issues. that or he played me like a fiddle

Search; Sorry for the late reply. I was snoozing. I used to drink more than I do now. I've cut way back recently to just drink 1-2 nights (2-3) drinks each night on weekends. It's interesting you say that too search because I was in Vegas a while back drinking like a fish of course and after a few days there I had a very fast pulse and was short of breath once. I drank a bunch of water, ate, and cut out drinking for next 2 days after that. What are you thinking search??

alcohol increases your BP,also decreases the effect of the sphincter that keeps food from coming back up, aka reflux. So don't drink as much in the evening before you hit the sack. You can't do shet when you get old.

Search, My primary is cool, (I have a 2 year and shit. Don't want to take chances/gamble with my health). He already mentioned if I I want he'll send me to a cardiologist and I have good insurance and stuff. Question; WHAT IS THE BEST TEST TO HAVE RUN ON YOUR HEART TO CHECK FOR POSSIBLE BLOCKAGES AND STUFF?? (I know there's a bunch of tests out now) Thanks in advance!

With your height, you've probably been able to eat whatever you want. But just because you don't look obese, doesn't mean your arteries aren't clogging up (unless you have good genes)
The best thing you can do is drop a little weight, make sure you exercise regular, and eat less fatty beef, processed foods, sugary foods, fried foods, potato chips, etc.

Angiogram is the best test to find blockage in the arteries of the heart. Stress test is suitable for detecting ischemia and lumen narrowing but not general arterial thickening. Usually better to ask local experts about your condition instead of strangers on a gambling forum.

Thirdperson, I respect what you said but so called local experts in this modern day healthcare system are not all that. My old dr told me in passing once how it's really important that a patient be ultimately cognizant and educated about their health. He also said you'd be surprised how many Dr's had patients of there's drop dead because the patient failed to tell them something critical that the dr also didn't catch (ie. Symptom of chest pain or shortness of breath). My point here is that Dr's now treat patients like numbers and see a patient for a very short amount of time. It can't hurt a patient if they come into a drs office educated. Also I've been around many health forums and I swear to god covers users are everybit as good or better. Trust me when I tell you, Gamblers are Alot smarter than you think!

Nexium is the ONLY thing that works for me. I tried all kinds of other stuff and it wasn't the same. And at age 58 I'm not making ANY lifestyle changes. Smoke in the Morning. Exercise in the Late Morning and TKB. Handicap the days card, Run Errands, Odd Jobs around the house in the early Afternoon. Drink in the Late Afternoon and Early Evening. Eat Muscle Relaxers and Ambien at Night. Wifey Pickle Tickle anytime she wants. That's my life guys.

Golden goose; I really appreciate your opinion here. Barrett's esophagus was the docs concern but he gave me stats that even if I have it there's a single digit % chance it will develop into cancer ever after 10+ years. He said that they sometimes do ablation to the upper GI tract when's wine has a serious case of Barrett's. YIKES!!!!

Ron: My cousin is the exec secretary for a local gastroenterologist and his right-hand girl. My nephew has been an Emergency Room Dr now for seven years. I had extensive discussions with both when I first started with this Gerd Condition two years ago. This is where I acquired my personal knowledge on the subject.
Apparently Mr Johnson feels the need to voir dire me on my expertise in this area. Or he is simply jealous of my 25 year Teamster Pension.
Here's the thing... There is one simple trick for keeping Gerd in check while you sleep. There is no worse feeling than waking up from a sound sleep gagging with Gerd. Raise the head of your bed a good eight to ten inches so your upper body is kept much higher than your feet. Extra pillows don't work. You have to physically put wooden blocks under the feet on the head of your bed. So simple and you will see immediate comfort at night.
