Not sure why I am posting this here. I never get on here anymore, but I need some input from anyone that may be able to help me out.
I got an interview with a great company about 3 months ago and was recently offered the job. About a week prior to receiving the offer, I found out that one of my college courses hadn't transferred to the university I am graduating from. I quickly called for the transfer, and notified the company that had made the offer to give them a heads up.
After I accepted the background checks started. I got a call from the company doing the checks asking for proof of employment (w2) because when they had initially reached out to the employers their calls weren't returned. During this process I realized that I had screwed up on dates for a job I had in my history. I had listed Sept of 06 - Aug 11 instead of Sept 06 - Aug 10.
This is an entry level position so no experience is required. The job with the messed up date has nothing to do with the field I am entering. It's just that I thought my resume was squeaky clean, and now the graduation date is wrong, and the date of employment for that particular job.
I was really thrown off by the mix up with transferring credits. I was getting e-mails and phone calls about post graduation job experiences. I live out of state now, so I had stated I wouldn't be attending commencement.
Anyone out there with any HR or experiences like this? Like I said I notified them about the credit. My advisor said that if it were to cause any issues with background checks she would give them a letter stating my completion of degree requirements. Any encouragement here? Or am I going to screw around and get this offer withdrawn on accident?
