Paying for picks is a fixed cost which requires extra revenue to breakeven financially.  Unprofitable unless stake is big and information reliable enough.

TRUE STORY NO BS YEARS AGO THERE WAS WELL KNOWN HANDICAPPER IN NEW JERSEY CALLED JOHNY DEMARCO,WENT TO VEGAS LATER .SO FOR $50 HEE GAVE ME PICK BOSTON/DETROIT PLAYOFF GAME IF YOU WIN HE SENDS YOUR CREDIT CARD THROUGH IF YOU LOSE NO PLAY WONT CHARGE YOU NOT ONLY HIS PICL LOST HE DID NOT REFUND MY $50 HE USED EVERY EXCUSE IN BOOK I BUG THE garbage OUT HIM LIKE THEY DO TO YOU IF YOUR EVER GIVE THENM YOUR # DONTTTTTTTTTTTT.MONTH LATER I GET ON MY VISA STATEMENT THAT I WAS CHARGED $350 FOR STERO SPEAKERS SAID THATS MISTAKE I LIVE IN CALI .THEY SENT ME COPY RECEIPTSOMEBODY FORGEED MY NAME TOLD THEM CALL THE STORE THEY DIDNT BOTHER I KNOW IT WAS INSIDE JOB THEY SAID THEY TOOK INFO OVER PHONE CREDIT CARD COMPANY TOOK IT OFF MY BILL .DEMARCI DISCOUNTED IS PHONE AFTER THAT. If you can find someone that can consistently win over a long period of time, sure go ahead and pay. Why not? However, have you seen anyone like that? Probably not.

Need proof? OK just think about it... if their pics were so good, they would play it themselves and build wealth. But the pics are not good, so they con idiots to pay for trash.

I know someone that has you pay for picks. Won around 80 units in 2011 and over 100 units in 2012, both in MLB only. Not only did he bet his own plays, but why not make some additional money on the side by selling your plays? Makes perfect sense.
