I use to be somewhat skeptical of this "curse" but as the years go by I'm beginning to wonder.

I think it's time they just put a football on the cover.

LOL. Yeah, then they will be a strike or some other goofy garbage that pops up to destroy the entire season.

The only year that I can remember the curse not taking it's toll(well sort of) was when Drew Brees was on the covers and they lost as huge favorites to the Seahawks in the playoffs.

I think it is the mindset of players that change once on the madden covers.

I think the person on the cover works alittle less in the offseason because 'damn, im on the madden cover." Maybe they even spend some of their offseason playing madden. I think its possible the defenses are also more keyed in and focusing their defense on not letting that player beat them

They should put Madden himself on the cover, most of these idiot millinials don't even know who he is probably....but then , he'd probably stroke out that season or something..

Madden was on every cover until 2000
