I am wanting to make a trip out there with the lady sometime next year. Anyone ever been? the park is huge I was wondering which parts are the best to visit. we are campers and hikers. also would like to spend a night or two in a lodge or something similar.

I always get good travel tips from covers members. thanks in advance.

Heard of it but never had the chance to lay foot there. Since you guys are hikers, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to easily track down and traverse your way thorugh the park. Be cautious and have fun!

National parks in the U.S are some if not the most beautiful in the world. Embarrassed to say that I haven't been to more.

Be great to rent a sweet RV and drive to Yellowstone.

Camped a few nights there with friends back in 1980. Drove up from Denver in August and were completely unprepared for the significant overnight temperature swings. Beautiful scenery and quite a bit of wildlife to look at. Down the road from Yellowstone is Jackson Hole with The Grand Teton mountains, probably the most beautiful spot I have ever been to in my life.

Don't go during the summer when school is out, what a freaking zoo!

Park is great, def go check out Jackson Hole and the Tetons.  Also go a bit farther south into the Pinedale Area and check out the Wind Rivers.
