I am seriously contemplating taking a trip for a month or two while working on a book. I want some place that is inspiring with great views preferably near a beach that has a good bookie shop in the neighborhood. Must be a place where I can rent a room (and not an expensive hotel) for a reasonable sum and buy or rent a scooter while there. I could go on but those are the musts. Thanks in advance.

Portugal or Nice, France are pretty good spots.

All I can tell you is if you do this, why not get yourself set up at non-US books while you are there (including PInnacle).

Get yourself an address with a utility bill in your name, get yourself a bank account - then when you get back you get a VPN in that country - and you are done.  Never worry about a book again.

As far as a direct answer to your question - the bookie shop is the tough one.  Ireland or UK has lots of them, but somewhere like Spain or Greece might be more affordable and better surroundings.  Go to Spain, get a Pinnacle acct, and you might never come back.

Read book shop.

Nevermind. Those two places won't help you.

Thanks Vanzack. As I make this decision I will check those two out as it might help make a choice.

SW appreciate the ideas.

jmw, Ireland is beautiful if you were serious but a little to dark for this project.

Check out a city in Spain called Almunecar....somebody mentioned Sevilla above, this is close but even more beautiful as it's right on the Andalucian Sea with an amazing beach.

My family has had a small apartment there since the 1970s and I've gone a few times. Its beautiful, food and booze is dirt cheap (a meal and a beer is as low as 5 Euro) and rent for a decent apartment would be about 300 Euro a month. There are also nice rocks and mountains around there area, so great scenery for inspiration. Finally, the people are as nice as you'll ever find, so helpful even if you don't speak a word of Spanish.

Wait, are you working on writing a book and want a nearby bookie nearby? I'm confused.

Maybe just me.

Search I believe he wants to write a book, but have a sportsbook nearby so he can continue placing winning plays.

Got it. Write a book near a book that's on a beach and has scooters. Hmmmmmm, lemme get back to ya on that one. Frogs don't bet as far as I know.

Are you the aspiring writer behind this blog? -

Pretty sure I discovered that on covers, but I have no idea who posted it.
