I keep seeing this advertisement on TV from Gillette marketing how long their blades last as some guy travels around Europe for a 2 months with one blade and gets perfect shaves every time!  BULLSHIT!

I'm not sure if it's just my skin, my facial hair or bad luck but these fuckin shaving blades don't last for garbage anymore!  Two shaves and the thing is as dull as letter opener.  Does anyone else have this problem as well?

Anyone have any suggestions?  I heard that drying a blade after use helps to prolong it's life but that doesn't appear too effective when I tried it.  What blade do you use?

darn!  I should just wax my face!

When you're finished shaving set the blade on your counter top so that the sharp edges of the blades are up. This way the sharp edges dry faster (the water drips off of them). This will help immensely. The blades get dull when the water sets on the sharp edge due to the chemicals in the water. At least this is what I've heard. It works for me.

These Corporate people keep making things cheaper to maximize profits.  Razor Blades are no exception to the rule.  You wouldn't mind if you could pay more and get a quality product but these Corporate people charge more AND give you a shitty product.  Consumers continue to get a double friggin ON EVERYTHING THEY BUY (with no Vaseline OR a reach around).

i find after a couple of shaves the blades get a bit dull, but have learned that to just shave through it and it gets better after a couple more shaves.

I use schick, haven't changed the blade for over 6 months, but I only shave every two Weeks, but my growth is thick.

Dry your blades after, keep them up and get some good shaving cream, i use gillette foam, not the gel. I also shave after I shower to soften the hair or even shave in the shower.

Used to always use Gillette mach 3. Loved it. Tried the newer Gillettes with the 4 blades and for some reason it just hurt my face. Then this Shick Hydro showed up in my mail box as some promotion thing and boy its amazing! It has 4 blades with some lubricating gel above them.

Also always shave in the shower. If i ever try just using shaving cream or gel over the sink it kills when i do it. I use womans skintimate shaving cream as well. Really thick stuff and for some reason works better. My face may smell like a vagina when im done but its better then a hurt face.

Also the longer the facial hair the more it hurts from my experience. I usually go 3-4 days before shaving and on that 4th day its pretty long and thick. If i wasnt lazy and did it every day i would never have a problem.

just look at socks and belts.  Both fall apart fairly quick now.

I remember when i was in my 20's and 30' you could buy a belt and it would last a long time, now your lucky to get a few months out of the suckers.

Goose said it best, the corporate pigs keep making things cheaper and cheaper, while still rasing the prices for less quality products.  They know that they got all of us by the balls bigtime, so they will just continue robbing us.

Digit, i bought a pack of gillettes and every blade, except one was dull right out of the package.

Next time you buy a baseball cap and it says made in china, i will bet any amount, that the top part of hat and the brim wont be lined up right.

I bought a jimmy buffet hat{friggin piece of garbage made his fortune, basically being an american beach bum} and he had the nerve to have his hats made in china. Everything on the hat was crooked.

Buy a hat from new era and the hat will be perfect

Isnt it amazing how when things like stoves, fridges, washer and dryers were made in our country they would last 25 years or more.

Today all these products have become throw away products.

I used to have a spare fridge that worked great and was colder then the modern fridge.  It was like 35 years old.

The old tv's would easily last over 20 years without any problems.  Today your lucky to get a few years from one

They are locked up because they are a highly shoplifted item, which also factors in the price, the truth is we all pay for shoplifting, retailers can only absorb so much theft which is rampant.

Shick ST2 disposables work for me..I swear one of them lasts me a few weeks.I shave after a shower with just hot water 6 days a week..Not a heavy growth though like the 5-o'clock shadow types.

Forget what a 12 pack costs though, but if more than $20 I'd remember..

Buy your razor blades on E-Bay guys.  Super cheap.  They may be stolen, but who really cares.

Good point CT. Razor blades are always 'falling off the back of trucks'. I get good deals from my barber.

I stopped shaving with razors years ago, I look better with a little growth anyway. On Sunday night I use my hair trimmers and go over my beard with no guard (zero) and call it done. Takes 5 minutes once a week and free. (Thumbs up)

  I will check that out.

I shave every day, but I also make sure I do so after a hot shower. Makes the hair a lot softer.  I also have a goatee so I only shave half of my face or so.  I'd say one of my razor blades lasts 3 weeks or so.

I know if I use cheapees I look like I got strangled by a Blackberry bush...........I'll spend $10 on the Gillette Mach 3's (?) & they generally last a couple weeks each.
I hate shaving.........but at my age my facial hair is gray & makes me look even older than I am. I'm sure the day will come when I won't give a garbage.
