#2 Posted: 9/25/2012 12:33:16 AM I have my buddy that we bet each other, he didn't even question it, even though I agree that it wasn't a TD. Its official, its over, Seattle won. Pay up. |

#11 Posted: 9/25/2012 9:52:50 AM Would you tell your book they didn't have to pay? You get involved in this business and you understand that this happens to you once in a while. It will also happen to him where he's the beneficiary sometime.
Tell him to put on his big boy pants and flip you your $100. |

Actually ignore this advice. It becomes a slippery slope if you put different stipulations on payments because of any reason other than the final score.
Tell him that it is the breaks but it is called "the way it is".

#13 Posted: 9/25/2012 10:17:01 AM If Vegas makes the bettor pay and cashes the Seattle ticket, he should pay.
Vegas always has the final say in these matters. |

#15 Posted: 9/25/2012 1:29:16 PM I thought it was the right call in the end. I don't think they could have overturned it. It was close, i don't know why people are getting so crazy about it and saying that it was a no-brainer interception. it was close. so are a lot of calls. this isn't a fault of the refs' experience. i think the normal refs could have easily made the same decision |

#17 Posted: 9/25/2012 2:24:31 PM I would make him pay....but then I would buy him lunch with it or a case of beer as mentioned above.
You aren't obligated to do this, but it's what I would do because of how the game ended and because he is your friend. |

#18 Posted: 9/25/2012 2:40:37 PM bets a bet, gotta be a man and pay your debt
after losing a bet like the game last night, i would definitely take my buddy out for a few beers though.
when me and my buds bet on games it's small wagers, more or less for fun, so financially it's not a big deal win or loss. but after the hand shake, it's a done deal, and you pay up when you lose. |

#21 Posted: 9/25/2012 4:50:24 PM Was this really that much of a surprise after the ATL/Denver Monday night game. The game changing call just game earlier and that game, but was equally ridiculis maybe even more so.
Anyhow, I'd have take you out for beer and wings on Thursday and call it square. Run up a hefty tab for him though. |

#22 Posted: 9/25/2012 4:54:59 PM I agree a bet is a bet. However, I would be more inclined to let him off if he was going to pay and not say a word about it. In fact, if my friend was going to pay me without complaining after that ending, I would definitely let him off. But the fact that he is complaining about it I'm not so sure..

#24 Posted: 9/25/2012 7:41:03 PM I'd make him pay and take him out for drinks as many folks have said. I had a $100 bet at the beginning of march madness with my friend many years ago when arizona won it at 30/1. He didn't collect $3,000 from me but drinks were on me for the next year. |
